What’s delicate as the lakeshore mist but snappy as your German grandmother’s goulash? This Kolsch. Like your Oma, this brilliant beer has quite a story. It starts with the tangy aroma of apples and pears but finishes so crisp, you will want to roll up your sleeves and dig into the harvest. It’s balanced and subtle, soft and unique. If you asked real nice—and if it wasn’t a beer—it might just bake you a pie.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the source. Bumped actual pint glass. Minimal head. Light, crisp golden color. Taste follows suit with a grainy relatively mild hop flavor. Pretty easy to drink which is appreciated. Little bit of that frat beer aroma and taste but it doesn’t completely turn me off. Maybe a little sweetness but minimal. Not bad for the style. Limited ceiling.
