Bottle. Hazy orange colour with a small off-white head. Nutty aroma and taste. Medium body and a harsh finish.

Bottle in Paris. Cloudy amber pour, soft white head. Caramel, bread and yeast nose. Pretty sweet, plenty of candi sugar and yeast, bit of dough. Light to medium in body with average to lively carbonation. Sweetish, slightly basic finish with subtle yeast and caramel. As I said, pretty basic and one-dimensional, but not bad.

bottle, Merci jaghana, I love the label. Hazy golden colour, large white head. Sweet-malty nose, hints of bubblegum in the aroma. Full-bodied, sweetish malty, hints of chestnut, slightly fruity. A nice experience!

Murky orange colour, orange head. Aroma of hops and coriander. Taste is heavy coriander with a bitter-dry malt finish. Just okay.

omhper (15956) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 29, 2009
Bottled. Hazy golden, minimal head. Fruity pineapple and plum aroma. Sweet and medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Very fruity, I really had to doublecheck so that the label didn’t say mirabelle instead of châtaignes. Light salty bitterness. Unusal, but quite nice.

Bottle purchased at La Cave à Bulles in Paris. Best before March 2009. Poured a clear dark orange color. Head was off white and reduced over 1-2 minutes to a thin film. Aroma was of maple and light chocolate. Slightly sweet on the tongue. I’m not exactly sure what a chestnut tastes like, but there was a distinctly nutty flavor accompanied by a hint of milk chocolate. I didn’t taste or smell much in the way of hops. Very interesting beer.

Bottle. Amber colour. Sweet aroma of chestnuts and caramel. Sweet flavour chestnuts, malts and strangely enough also chocolate. Sweet average lasting aftertaste.

Maria (8577) - Thisted, DENMARK - JAN 1, 2007
This chestnut beer has a reddish golden color and an OK head. The aroma is nutty with chestnut notes. The flavour is a bit harsh and has the same notes as the aroma, and this beer resemblances the nut beer from the same brewery, but without the walnut notes. It’s weird beer....

hazy reddish-amber colour with a little beige head; strong aroma of nuts and dust; some sweetness balanced by a light sourness, the finish is nutty and a bit flowery but falls a little short - unusual and one-dimensional but I like it

A strange beer. Colour amber with medium head, but pieces of what I suppose is chestnut, so probably the beer should be standing upright for some days, before pouring into a glass. Aroma of chestnuts very dominant. The chestnuts also dominates the taste. Finish quite bitter. If you don´t like chestnuts, this is not the beer.

yngwie (9188) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 9, 2006
Bottled. Sparkling, light cloudy, golden beer with floaties and an off-white head. Nutty, lightly smoked and spicy aroma, and a flavor with malt, nuttiness and spices. Dusty, medium body. A very special beer. (060516)
