The use of Hemp Flowers (among other entheogenic plants) in Beer was a common thing in whole Europe before the year 1512, when the so called "beer purity law" appeared in Germany. This purity law is perhaps the first anti drug law of the menkind... Hemp is an emparented plant with hops. Hemp flowers have more than 140 different aromatic compounds. Many of them are found in hops too and many others that are not produced by hops but fits perfect with hops together. This all different essential oils that results in the unmistakeable hemp flower aroma of Cannabia. Cannabia contains more hemp flowers than hops flowers. The production of Cannabía was autorized in ’96 by the Berliner authoritys. For more on this beer visit: http://www.dupetit.de/english/framer.htm

330ml bottle. Pale, slightly orangy, lager, thin head. Grassy hemp-flower aroma, but quite thin - some lime, some grapefruit, maybe some cactus. Taste is very sweet and fruity - grapefruit. Quite thin and watery, only the zing has any lasting presence at all.

Bottle from no*78. Aroma is notably fresh grass(cannibus), hints of grapefruit and other aromiantic oils. Taste is loads of citrusy grapefruit and good quality grass, lightly peppery with a good fresh pink grapefruit finish. Defo a beer that deserves a better score than it gets.

Skinnyviking (8630) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 12, 2007
Bottle. Small white low almost non-existant head. Clear yellow body. Almost no aroma just a bit of barley malt. Thin and watery flavor with surprisingly much hops. Low carbonation. Short aftertaste.

From my notes 5/26/07 - Pours a two-finger off-white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Clear pale amber color. Resin/spruce nose. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Flavor is almost sour, piney, clean finish. Drinkable but nothing to go back to or get high on. Flavor is from cannabis seeds. €4 ($5.48) 330ml green bottle from Supermarket Amsterdam Amsterdam, NL. Bottle. Heavy hoppy, grass, straw, little bit sour. Yellow and clear body, small white head, fully dimishing. The flavor is sweet with a short duration, on the palate the stuff is light, watery and has a flat carbonation. Not my cup of tea...

My first experience with cannabis :) this is a golden beer with a nice head. The aroma is perfumed and the flavour is fresh and delicious with notes of etherial oils, that I cannot pinpoint, but I do get some lime notes, it’s probably the cannabis flavour.

Hazy yellow color with a thin head that disappeares almost immediately. Strong hemp aroma. This beer has a bitter hemp/mandarin orange flavour (hemp however predominates). It is a very interesting beer (so different that it should be hardly called beer; more similar to a lemonade). Esy to drink and refreshing. Overall, interesting, but no for me.
