The use of Hemp Flowers (among other entheogenic plants) in Beer was a common thing in whole Europe before the year 1512, when the so called "beer purity law" appeared in Germany. This purity law is perhaps the first anti drug law of the menkind... Hemp is an emparented plant with hops. Hemp flowers have more than 140 different aromatic compounds. Many of them are found in hops too and many others that are not produced by hops but fits perfect with hops together. This all different essential oils that results in the unmistakeable hemp flower aroma of Cannabia. Cannabia contains more hemp flowers than hops flowers. The production of Cannabía was autorized in ’96 by the Berliner authoritys. For more on this beer visit: http://www.dupetit.de/english/framer.htm

pours golden straw yellow, nothing in terms of taste just a very small sharp finish of skunkiness. Didn’t even bother to finish this.

Blond macro lager color, with some bread-y skunk-y aromas. Tastes like a cheap typical lager with an THC kind bitterness aftertaste. Nothing special for a beer.

Bottle. A clear, pale golden, almost yellow, beer topped by a white head of moderate size. Rather grassy, lightly piney and quite herbal nose with some hayish maltynes. Less on the herbal side in the flavor, although still that’s the dominant compound. Thin on the palate, with a decent carbonation level. Pleasant bitterness towards the end. Certainly not my favorite beer in any way, interesting though, and it has some resemblence to a classic German pilsner, but I’d rather have the real thing. The beer that is. 130711

This smelled quite like cannabis which was different. It poured a very pale yellow colour with a tiny head. Taste was similar to smell and quite watery. Very low carbonation.

Saw some 33cl bottles of this lurking in the fridge of a Giros joint in Mykonos Town while on holiday (early May 2013): had to try it. Murky, cloudy lagerish yellow colour, what head arrived soon left the area. The taste and aroma were a bit strange: not sure what flavour ’hemp’ actually has, anyway this beer definately had something different about it, Guava? I can’t say I really enjoyed my bottle, but I do things like this sometimes just to annoy the wife (hunt down new beers, then pay over the odds and don’t like them).

Not that great really, promises more than it delivers. Aroma a little skunky hint. Flavour .... maize??? Not getting any hemp or anything at all unusual ....

bottle from stepdad - thanks. drain pour. clear pale yellow with a decent white head and retention. some piss and skunk, flowery, astringent tea, some lemony and peppery notes. average carbonation, light body - oily, decent grassy-herbal-citrusy finish.

Bottle from local Yamaya. Big pissy Saaz-like nose (is that the hemp?) with a grassy background. Hazy pale straw. Light bitterness in initial; bitter grows along with a touch of cereal and some cardboard; final is more or less balanced, has a metallic note, and leaves a slight burn. Like a crude Czech pils. Better finish writing this before the "hemp’ kicks in.....

Why? It doesnt taste much different from a non hemp beer. Only somewhat unique characteristic is a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Otherwise, nothing special.
