The use of Hemp Flowers (among other entheogenic plants) in Beer was a common thing in whole Europe before the year 1512, when the so called "beer purity law" appeared in Germany. This purity law is perhaps the first anti drug law of the menkind... Hemp is an emparented plant with hops. Hemp flowers have more than 140 different aromatic compounds. Many of them are found in hops too and many others that are not produced by hops but fits perfect with hops together. This all different essential oils that results in the unmistakeable hemp flower aroma of Cannabia. Cannabia contains more hemp flowers than hops flowers. The production of Cannabía was autorized in ’96 by the Berliner authoritys. For more on this beer visit: http://www.dupetit.de/english/framer.htm

Hazy light blond color. The aroma is unexpected, there is a quite good beer base, with some malt, and a pleasant black pepper touch, and nettles. The mouthfeel is weak and dry; there is not much beer flavor, just a light, grassy touch, some peppery note, and almost missing bitterness. Poor.

Pale yellow. Small head. Herbal aroma. A light lager with a hint of hemp in the aftertaste (and more in the burp that came up afterwards). Weissenohe has a similar product which is amber in colour and tastes stronger.

pale sickly yellow colour with a bit of haziness, some steady bubbles pale lager aroma, nothing special thin, creamy body with some fizziness it is actually an improvement on a standard macro lager. not as sweet, has some earthiness to it, but really nothing to write home about.

A lager with a pronounced herby, bordering on spicy. flavour that blooms after the initial malt burst. Not subtle! Quite drinkable!

Bottle 33cl from Spain. A amber beer with low head. Smell is grassy. Aroma is a basic amber with low malty character and almost no cannabis aroma, just a grassy hey aroma. The finish is bitter and short, no interest in this product.

Found at a bio foods store in Paris. Using hemp in your beer is quite a fad in Europe, it seems. Pours bubbly bright gold with a solid pillow of head - a big difference from the French hemp beers I’ve had recently, which were flat and murky. There’s a distinctive perfume of grass and leaves, various greenery, like there’s a gardening shop nearby. Taste is rice and maybe a hint of grass perfume, but very faint. Not obviously a cannabis beer, in fact more like an overbranded and less complicated version of a Heineken.
