3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1698) - Asshat, - MAY 29, 2009
****update Aug 8th, 2008*** - old mark - 3.5. still lacks aroma power, the flavour is quite muted, still highly drinkable but it is floating between an AIPA and an EIPA.
Same awesome pour, Better than average brew from The Cannery.
Poured out monster thick white head that was always very present. Crazy lacing. Crystal clear heavy gold hue. Savoury floral airy hops with mild malts and faint nutty fruit held very well inside the glass. Long lasting crisp bitterness and mild malt flowed smooth across the tongue. Leafy? Nice dry bitter after taste that was not overwhelming and a bit of light fruit lingered. Easy drinking for sure!

Amber colour with foamy white head. Faint aroma. Taste is bitter hops, some sweet malts to balance it out, grapefruit. An okay IPA.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ferfie (253) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 14, 2012
Pours an almost glowing orange amber with a small bright white head. The aroma is orange, light grapefruit, a touch of pine and a rather pronounced caramel-ness from the malt. There’s a touch of peach, bright sweetness that’s present too, but it does smell quite a bit maltier than most other single IPA’s I’ve been around. Taste up front is an assertive citrus, tangerine with a smidgen of grapefruit in there to lay on a touch of bitter. There’s a little bit of pine resin in here as well, but the caramel nicely comes to the fore, to balance out the hops. There’s also something of an earthy spice in here as well that leaves a slightly astringent finish on my tongue, and yet it’s not unpleasant – in fact it gives the beer an interesting character. It kind of blends into a nice alcohol warmth, which is kind of shocking, given this beer is only 6%. The mouth feel is medium, short of syrupy, with a nice, lively carbonation. The finish is citrus and bitterness. A very nice, and quite drinkable IPA.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 VincentL (157) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 11, 2011
Une odeur de fleur de houblon faible mais plaisante. Une amertume assez tranchante pour les standards d’une IPA qui prend toute la place au goût. Un peu simple et direct mais satisfaisant si on veut une bière amère.

Fruity flavour of hops and grass with notes of pine needles.
Hoppy finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 thb (484) - Alberta, CANADA - AUG 1, 2011
Looks lovely, slightly cloudy orange with good pillowy head. Aroma promises lively fruity hops, with malt backbone. Good start. Taste delivers as the aroma promises, solid malt backbone, caramel/cereal, then transition into some serious grapefruit hops, before heading to a pretty intense bitter finish. Mouthfeel on the thin side.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Aubrey (3192) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - JUL 29, 2011
Sweet and malty nose. Good amber color and a nice head with various bubble sizes. Lightish and kind of thin texture; only a mild carbonation level. Malt side is bready with a slightly burnt edge. Hop side is filled with grass, perfume and flowers. At first, bitterness seems very balanced. But it builds on the tongue and becomes somewhat stark and plant-like. Overall, not a bad IPA; just a little weak in some areas and a little too abrasive in others.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 28, 2011
Orange pour, white head. Piney hops on the nose, some sweetness. Brown sugar malt flavor, moderately bitter finish with a floral and resinous quality. Not a lot of complexity, but it does pack a satisfying hop bitterness.

Bottle @ Utah Holiday Tasting: Clear copper color with a nice head and lacing. Hoppy and bitter with a crisp and hoppy finish. Not that fresh tasting though, a bit dry and dusty. Meh.
3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Jagooar (18) - British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 12, 2011
Pours clear golden brown, with one inch off white head, dissapating slowly with little lacing. Simple, balanced hop aroma with hints of citrus, I believe. Good taste. Initialy somewhat sweet, with quickly rising hop bite and bitter finish lingering long after on the tongue. Very nice IPA. I am the furthest thing from a hophead, and IPA’s normally aren’t my thing, but I find this one very drinkable and a much better choice than some of the other IPA’s from BC microbrews (e.g. the Brockton IPA from Grandville). The tagline on the can says "Fierce hop, gentle bite" - a perfect way to describe it. It’s the "gentle bite" that makes this beer for me. Would buy again.
