COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nothing says fall better than this gnarly, spiced-up brown ale. We added 250 pounds of roasted knucklehead pumpkin along with traditional fall spice to this seasonal ale. Not your average knucklehead’s ale!

650ml brown bottle. Coppery colour, thin white head. Lots of cloves in the nose, caramel. Taste has caramel, bit of earth, cloves. Malty finish with a bit of spice and light bitterness. Medium body with fine carbonation. Overall, an OK pumpkin beer, nothing special.

Bottle, shared with Rockley. Nice auburn body with a compact off white crown. Nicely spiced with decent pumpkin character, but a tad on the sweet side. Half a bottle was enough.

650ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a finger of white head that settles quickly leaving no lacing on the glass. Aroma is pumpkin with some nutmeg and possibly allspice. Taste is a pumpkin fruity and malty sweetness with a spiciness and herbal bitter finish. A decent pumpkin brew for the holiday season. Quite enjoyable, but not spectacular.

Bomber. Clear dark copper, small foamy tan head settles and mostly lasts. Spice/herb/vegetable aroma. Taste of pie spices, nutmeg mostly, some faint pumpkin. Caramel malts kick in after a bit. Soft carbonation, light bodied, low hopped. Hardly gnarly, but a little earthy and dirty towards the finish. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Visual: This is the first time trying a Knucklehead pumpkin ale, let’s see how it differs. Pours dark cola brown, with a large foamy head with long retention, lots of active streams. Nose: sour/mild funk acidic brown sugar malts. (4)-aromatic strength Attack: creamy-fizzy, incoming sourness Mid-palate: (6)-sourness, (MAIN) brown sugar malts, roast pumpkin (HINT) yeasty tang, cinnamon/nutmeg Finish: sourness, medium (5)-bitter burnt malt finish. Summary: Somewhat surprised for such acidity/sourness in a pumpkin brew. Persistent sourness without complexity makes this one just an average beer for me. (Note: all numbers above are on a 10-point scale, with 1 being weak and 10 being the strongest)

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a clear, dark reddish brown with a lacing off-white head. Subtle cinnamon nose. Medium body, heavy brown sugar and pumpkin spice – not overdone though. A little phenols perhaps. No real bitterness. Works ok. 230213

Chestnut red color, hazy, with medium sized head. Mild aroma of pond water, nutmeg and cinnamon, very light biscuits. The mouthfeel is quite dry; there is some flavor of malt, pumpkin, light spices, light vegetables, stale water; the bitterness level is correct; in the final there is both a fruity and a earthy touch.
Not saying it’s bad, but there was no need for this one.
