3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Eyrish (31) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 19, 2013
Pours dark brown with a multi layered thick beige head. Decent lace that lasts. Salty maple nose. Reminiscent of china lily soya sauce that has been sitting in the fridge for a long time. Maple forward first sip. Rich molasses and salty. Finishes clean with a touch of bitterness. Not overbearing as I was first expecting. Proper flavoured stout. Well played
3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ericdevin (235) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - JAN 28, 2013
Draft at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver. Pours black, slight tan head. Medium lacing, aroma is sweet, with maple being almost to the point of overwhelming. But wait, what’s this? Nice medium body, taste of maple is muted, finish has just a hint of bitterness, and is pleasantly long. I’m often skeptical of maple in beers, but this was a well-done and eminently delicious stout.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Whids (12) - - DEC 30, 2012
On tap at Fanclub. Served up super cold, this stout was fantastic. Just the right amount of maple sweetness to offset the stouts bitterness. I could drink these all night. Great winter beer.
3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 stantheman (362) - British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 8, 2012
On tap at Alibi Room in Gastown. Damn, this is nice! The usual stout overtones of coffee and chocolate, with substantial taste of caramel. Closest I can come to "maple", but close enough. It works well.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Reimer96 (587) - Alberta, CANADA - SEP 29, 2012
Pours a dark black color with a big white foamy head that leaves some lace on the glass. Smells of sweet Maple and chocolate. Tastes of a fast maple with some dark roasted malts and finishes with some bitterness that balances very well with the sweetness of the maple and roasted malts.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 reebtogi (3259) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 27, 2012
650ml bottle pours a dark brown color with a finger and a half of off-white head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is light maple syrup with some chocolate and roasted grains. Taste is a roasted grainy bitterness balanced nicely with a maple sugar and chocolately sweetness. Medium bodied with some decent carbonation providing a pleasant mouthfeel. Overall, this is a decent stout with the added sweetness of maple syrup, you can’t go wrong.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 radiomgb (2143) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 7, 2012
Very deep brown in colour with a thin lasting brown head, some light lacing. The aroma is heavy on the maple, lots of syrup and very sweet. The flavour is intensely sweet, lots of maple, some chocolate. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, very sweet.
Overpowering maple in this. Holy hell, Cannery is the west coast Trafalgar.
650ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 WheatKing (703) - Oak Bay, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 29, 2012
Black as it gets, with a small head. Huge maple aroma. Nice slightly syrupy mouthfeel with a good balance of the roast and maple. Did I mention maple? Because this has a maple finish. It’s much slighter that you’d expect, though, and I think this is key in making this a very fine brew. Any more and this would be cloying. Maple and stout sure go well together... the maple seems to take care of the astringency I often find too harsh in the stout. Are we in the pioneering days of a new substyle?
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Strykzone (3810) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - MAY 2, 2012
Sampled at an esbls tasting. Dark with some red and a tan head. Such a nice aroma. Maple leads with bacon and waffles. Like a great breakfast. That maple also leads the flavor. Waffles again. Big sweetness. How can I not like this? The low ABV is a bonus.
