Commercial Description:
The addition of natural maple brings this premium stout a softer, smoother mouth feel and adds a touch of sweetness to balance the dark rich malts. It is a truly Canadian version of an old British classic.

Very dark with brown medium head. Rich, rich maple aroma with tones of vanilla, brown sugar, Rwanda coffee beans, and dark cocoa....an absolute dessert! Wonderful dark malt and dominant coffee taste with hints of cherries and icing sugar. Burnt roasting oats tallies off this adventure and the finish resortes back to a recently finished good cup of coffee with a maple touch. Wanted to see more of the maple early in the mouth but its power on the nose and presence in the finish made up for the absence. Fairly thick feel in the mouth that left a coating. Overall, and extremely solid craft.

Had this a couple of months ago, just never got to typing it up. Super dark brown beer with a light brown cap and light lacing. Aroma: coffee and sweetness and nice, soft maple... I like this somehow. The taste seems to come out more on the finish. The bitterness is odd - seems like it could be hot but isn’t, interesting mix of very weak coffee, maple and lots of nut. Smooth, light bitterness... actually... the weird hop choice might now work here.

Deep black with a tan head. Flavour of maple syrup and roasted malt. A little light for a stout, but still enjoyable. Very balanced. Sweetness not as much as you might think. Interesting!

Bottle. Pours very dark brown with small tan head. Lots of lace. Consistent light carbonation. Aroma is of maple syrup and coffee. Malt is not as sweet as I thought it would be (a good thing). Tastes like it smells, with coffee and maple syrup flavour. Some toasty bitterness. Mouth feel is silky smooth. This beer was a nice surprise after trying too many mediocre maple-flavoured beers from other brewers. Nice beer.

Pours into dimple mug with noir body, brown and rouge when held to the light, fine tan head and lacing. Aroma of bitter coco and maple syrup blend to smell like coca-cola, light nutty and earthy tones. Flavor is well balanced, nutty roasted malt and sweet maple sugar. Some say syrup, pancakes and bacon are expressed in this stout, I get that too, especially in the wonderfully lingering aftertaste - would love to try this with breakfast. Mouthfeel is velvety and subtly effervescent. This is an excellent sweet stout, probably my favorite beer from Cannery that I’ve tried thus far.

Bottle ( 650ml ). Shared by blankboy with garthicus, gregclow, jerc and mabel. Deep clear ruby with a solid lasting off-white creamy/foamy pancake batter head. Aroma of sweet roasty caramel malt, maple syrup and bacon (like a Shrove Tuesday church dinner) - slightly herbal (surprisingly appealing!) Taste was dry and herbal, still pancake and syrup but less so - a bit spicy in the finish. Light roasty body, average carbonation, with a fairly long spicy/sweet finish. I was amazed how much I liked this one - really tasty!

650mL bottle - pours black with a tan head. Flavour of maple syrup and roasted malt. A little thin for a stout, but still enjoyable.

My bottle [22oz] shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- c/o Mirek. Pours black with an average size diminishing creamy tan head. Aroma of light roasted malt with maple syrup -- kind of smells like a plate of pancakes and bacon with maple syrup, which is nice. Flavour of bacon and maple syrup -- quite unique for sure. Average to medium bodied. A pleasant surprise, I quite liked this.
