650 mL bottle from a BC Liquor Store in Vancouver, served cold in a small tumbler.

App.: Medium-deep copper with a nice foamy light tan head. Good lacing. Aroma: Earthy, dirty nuts (that sounds wrong...), some medium-roasted malts – caramel and toffee, light coffee, a little sweet and woody, Palate: Medium body with fairly soft carbonation. Silky smooth. Flav.: Nice rich malt character, with some nuttiness, coffee, dark bread crust. Has a lightly bitter finish.

Seems like a good Brown Ale.

Thick, malt forward aroma has notes of orange-citrus and plenty of tannins. Caramel and toffee are up front with just a touch of butter. Some earthy and floral notes and a fleeting hint of licorice. Brilliantly clear chestnut brown coloured body is topped by a decent tan head that recedes slowly to cover with nice lacing. Caramel is strong in the flavour but cannot hide a husky graininess. Regardless, the flavour is somewhat simple and quite sweet. Medium light body with overly strong carbonation. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (BCLS on Commercial, Feb-07).

(650ml bottle) Pours a medium foamy almond head with a golden body. Nose and flavour are thin, nutty and a fizzy maltedness. Nothing extraordinary here...
