3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 stantheman (85) - - JAN 13, 2012
Copper orange in color. Very aromatic; reminiscent of fruits and caramel. Taste: the liquid gently caresses the tongue, and tickles the back of the throat. It’s somewhat malty, somewhat sweet, and a bit of hoppiness thrown in. Nicely balanced.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 gramity (601) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 7, 2012
Reddish brown colored liquid topped by a short, creamy, off-white head. Foam shrinks, but doesn’t disappear altogether, minimal lace. Aroma of sweetish caramel malt, light smokiness, and a touch of dark fruit. Malt flavor to start, sweet caramel, more smoke flavor. Some fruit, and a bit of hop bitterness. Body is rich and full. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. A nice blend, well balanced.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 ardiesr (45) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 2, 2012
Sweet, rich malt aroma, biscuity, very nice. No hops, nothing off. Lighter colour for the style, great clarity, fairly high carbonation for style, good head retention. Flavour is malt, fairly simple caramel flavour and sweetness coming through. Some light apple or fruity esters. Finish lingers fairly sweet, but not cloying. Overall a good beer for Cannery.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 zeek (134) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 28, 2012
Pours a reddish orange with minimal to no head. Not really picking up the malts in the aroma that I was expecting from a scotch ale. Smooth in mouth, minimal bitter after taste.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lagerboy (416) - British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 30, 2011
Clear copper with a small tartan head, nose is sweet caramel malts and smoked peat. Strong and robust, some alcohol and vanilla. Finshes too syrupy sweet for my taste. Average.

July 18, 2010. 650ml bottle shared by blankboy with me, jerc & mabel. Clear copper pour, average and diminishing off-white head. Smell - caramel, sweet, thick, a hint of barnyard funky well-used straw. Taste follows, but less manure and more boring grassiness, hardly as much malt as was promised in the bouquet. Light, almost watery mouthfeel, a bit syrupy, very still, with a quick finish and pretty much no aftertaste .... mostly just boring.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - MAR 29, 2011
Bottle from Firefly, Vancouver Beautiful dark amber color, clean; medium sized head. Aroma of malt and caramel, but too mild. The body is round enough, the mouthfeel is soft; good malt and caramel flavor, above the average, without the annoying burnt malt of other Scotch Ales; there is light residual sweetness and a hint of smoke; correct bitterness; the final shows also a light nutty side. Not exciting, but well brewed.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mabel (4405) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 3, 2010
[3138-20100718] 650mL bottle. Brewery spent grains aroma has peat, moss, and earthy malt and some mild creamed corn notes. Clear, amber orange body with a quick creamy off-white head. Earthy grains and peat moss malt flavour has a sweet grains aftertaste. Medium body. Average.
Overheard: "Call me a taxi." "OK, you’re a taxi."
