my first dark IPA. Nice long hoppy finish, malty base, nice aroma. Pity it’s a limited release.

Deep murky brown pour unleashes a foamy and rocky beige cap. Lots of sticky lace here. Nose of citrus, pine, and floral hops. Lots of roasty malts, charred wood, some spice. Tastes of fresh citric hops, roasty malts again, dark bread, woody and smokey. Nice hop bite in the finish is balancing with sweet and toasty malts. An interesting IPA. I really liked the tough of burnt - was just enough to make the name and label seem really appropriate. Although I am wondering if it is the last thing the firefighters it pays tribute to would like to taste in their beer haha

Bottle. Dark brown with nice thick beige head. Some lace. Aroma is roasty & hoppy but but the hoppiness fades fast. Taste is bitter chocolate with a hint of citric hops. It kind of gels, kind of clashes. Nice palate.

Pours dark brown with a thick beige head. Pleasant aroma - citrus hop qualities mix with sweet fruits. Body has a nice balance with the dominating hops coming out on the end leaving a lingering grapefruit, slightly acidic finish. Good.

Bottle @ Papsø. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy caramel aroma. Fruity malty weak hoppy caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy caramel finish.

Bottled. A nut-brown beer with a huge light tan head. The aroma has notes of nuts, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes fof caramel, malt, nuts, and bread, leading to a bitter finish. More aroma hops please.

Bottle at Papsø. Pours brown with a big creamy off white head. The aroma is fruit, light hops, citrus and light caramel. The flavour is fruity, citrus, grape fruit and some sweetness.

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2011 22 fl oz bottle, courtesy of fiulijn. Pours hazy dark brown with a huge tan head. Aroma is mild roasted, dark malty. Wooden and dark malty, vague ashtray note. Bitter, dry, herbal and roasted caramelish to breadish. Bitter and dry herbal.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a clear orangey brown with a dense and frothy off-white head leaving a neat rim of lacework. Sweet roasty nose with a little yeast. Medium body, a little sweet roast, dark fruits, some ashes and a very bitter - if very unrefined - finish. Poor example of the style. 170611
