Commercial Description:
The dark Cannewitzer Bock is brewed after an old secret prescription. It is male strong, characterful by its sympathetic roasting notes of dark malts, it runs liquid - sueffig over the tongue. A true speciality is always preferred by connoisseurs, because it is somewhat special.

Also die Flasche ist schlicht gestaltet, aber das macht nichts, denn das Bier entschädigt wirklich dafür. Ein Genuss, wunderbarer malziger Geschmack, herb aber nicht zu aufdringlich. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

bottle. Clear amber-brown colour, large beige head. Malty nose. Very malty flavours dominate, with some hints of prunes and dried berries, also hints of caramel and toffee.

Bottle (thanks to kapplday123): Clear deep copper coloured, quite big stable off-white head; caramel, roasted malt in the nose with a touch of hops; relatively dry-bitter flavour, quite light bodied for a Bock; roasterd malt, coffee and caramel in the dry bitter finish. Quite similar to the Pumpernickel; a typical "light" DDR-Bock..........

(bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a massive beige foamy head. Light-sweet, roast-malty aroma with coffee, caramel and whiffs of herbal hops. Quite bitter flavour for a Bock, but also quite slim bodied for its 5.9% abv, smooth on the tongue. Roast-malty, earthy taste with notes of coffee and caramel; dry and moderately burnt and slightly hop bitter finish. A pleasant Schwarzbier-Bock. The souped up version of the Cannewitzer Pumpernickel (11.03.08).
