Quack-Duck (1908), Bodensee, Germany Jul 17, 2008 bottle. Clear dark brwon colour, medium-sized beige head, very freamy. Cremay mouthfeel, ful-bodied with lovely malty flavours and hints of roasetd malt and caramel, shy hints of cocoa. Slightly hoppy in the finish. Good stuff! pivnizub (3903), Porúří, Germany Mar 12, 2008 Bottle (many thanks to kappldav123 !): Deep ruby-amber coloured, quite stable creamy off-white head; drier dark-malty - almost with a tinge of smoke - nose with hidden hoppy traces; moderate to stronger bitter-sweet flavour; caramelly, dryish finish with a presumably hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. Good and pleasant DDR-stuff.......... MoritzF (3926), Ruhrpott, Germany Mar 11, 2008 (bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a reddish shine and a medium-sized beige foamy head. Slightly sweet roast-malty earthy aroma caramel and traces of coffee. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied and a smooth carbonation. Pleasant roasted malt-character, earthy taste with caramel, light notes of coffee and illusions of smoke; dry and roasty, moderately bitter finish with fain herbal hoppy accents. Quaffable Schwarzbier (11.03.08). kappldav123 (1075), Markkleeberg, Germany Jan 10, 2008 The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Smells really a little bit like black bread. Tastes modest malty, very drinkable, intense finish. Very good beer.
