always nice to be the first one... brownish colour. medium but solid head. sweet smell with some caramel and roasty parts. roasty beginning with coffee and liquorice. quite bitter for a schwarzbier. mid gets more bitter and brings more coffee-aroma. hopsy and roasty finish with coffee. nice one.

bottle. Clear dark brwon colour, medium-sized beige head, very freamy. Cremay mouthfeel, ful-bodied with lovely malty flavours and hints of roasetd malt and caramel, shy hints of cocoa. Slightly hoppy in the finish. Good stuff!

Bottle (many thanks to kappldav123 !): Deep ruby-amber coloured, quite stable creamy off-white head; drier dark-malty - almost with a tinge of smoke - nose with hidden hoppy traces; moderate to stronger bitter-sweet flavour; caramelly, dryish finish with a presumably hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. Good and pleasant DDR-stuff..........

(bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a reddish shine and a medium-sized beige foamy head. Slightly sweet roast-malty earthy aroma caramel and traces of coffee. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied and a smooth carbonation. Pleasant roasted malt-character, earthy taste with caramel, light notes of coffee and illusions of smoke; dry and roasty, moderately bitter finish with fain herbal hoppy accents. Quaffable Schwarzbier (11.03.08).

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Smells really a little bit like black bread. Tastes modest malty, very drinkable, intense finish. Very good beer.
