Jun 25, 2008 On draught at the brewpub in downtown Victoria, BC. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing and a thin off-white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, some light hard fruits and a touch of grassy hops. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of mild caramel malt, some mild spices and a touch of citrus. Finish is semi-dry with aftertaste flavors of roasted nuts, bitter herbs and some caramel.

Oct 16, 2007 on tap-pours a thin white head and amber color. Aroma is light malt, secondary light hops. Taste is light malt-caramel, faint hops.

Sep 22, 2007 7/14/07 On draught at the brewery. Aroma is caramel forward balance with a low earthy hop character. Appearance is light copper with a good white head. Flavor is well balanced, with sweet malt forward followed by medium bittering and a slight resiny finish. Mouthfeel is medium/low bodied with a moderate carb texture. Overall, this is similar to Redhook ESB, with a more English than American hop character.

Sep 16, 2007 Pours a clear light brown with the briefest of heads and no particularly memorable aroma. Taste is peculiar - macro malt profile with an attempt at more bitter anglohops, but ultimately the hopping does not blend and the beer tastes confusing. Slightly undercarbonated (served on-tap) and thin with no aftertaste to speak of. Points for effort.

Sep 10, 2007 Amber. Thin head. Light lacing. Light malt and vanilla nose. Moderate hop bitterness over light grainy vanilla body. Chewy for a lighter bodied beer.

Aug 20, 2007 Served too cold at the taproom but still nice and hoppy. Citrus notes as well. A good effort.

Jul 26, 2007 Draught at brewery. Light mild aroma with a bit of sweet maltiness, caramel and biscuit. Bit of neutral fruity hops but overall not very aromatic. Copper-amber clear with thin off-white lacing head. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Good malt character with a clean sweetness and bit of biscuit. Mild light fruity hops at the finish with mild bitter after. A fairly decent bitter.
