natrat (66), Naka-shi, Japan Nov 4, 2005 Medium amber colour. Pour was excellent, arriving with plentiful creamy head which disappeared quickly leaving a proper lacing on the glass. Served a bit cold for the style, but probably more palatable for the general public. Aroma had a strong Fuggles finish. A bit bland for a bitter, again, probably to please the non-beer-enthusiast. Strong malt profile, and very clean tasting. Would prefer more bitterness, and a hint more fruity ester flavor. A wee dry for my bitter tastes. Easy to drink. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Oct 31, 2005 Light amber colour. The aroma leans towards fuggles with a caramelly malt background. Bland English hops, mild bitterness, and hints of diacetyl leave little to entice. mj (4973), Colorado, USA Aug 5, 2005 Draft at the brewery
Rusty orange and red color. Bad skunky lager scent. Frothy, but not fizzy carbonation. Sour grains, wet cardboard and corn flavors. Lager-like, rancid, thin. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA Aug 4, 2005 Clear copper appearance. Fairly hoppy aroma with some yeasty fruitiness. Mild malt content on the palate, hop citrus plays a big part in the finish. Decent if unspectacular. CapFlu (3480), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Mar 18, 2005 (Draught) Pours an actively-carbonated orange-amber body with a thin creamy almond head. The nose is near odorless - perhaps mild hops. The flavour however is filled with hops. Average. Hooker (450), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada Dec 11, 2004 Clear medium amber colour. average head with good lace. pungent hoppy nose. bitter hoppy taste that lingers on.
it was served way too cold so needed to let in sit for a while for the aromas and flavours to come through. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Aug 11, 2004 Reddish copper colour with a thick off-white/yellow head. Malty aroma, slight nuttiness, orange citrus, spicy aroma. Thin body though. Malty caramel taste, with spicy finishing hops and a nice bitter finish. JohnC (2230), Mission Viejo, California, USA Jul 11, 2004 This bitter is decent, but not outstanding. It’s a bit bitter up front, but lacks the malty backend.
