Bottle at the ChrisO Holiday Tasting, London - massive thanks to Ian for continuing to source his local beers! Pours oily black-brown with a faint, tan bubble head. Dark malt nose, alcohol, some medicinal aspects. Big sweet flavor with tangy dark malts, plums, wet wood. Full bodied with dead flat carbonation. And it has a super oily mouthfeel. Lightly warming finish, medium sweetness, light toffee. Very flat and oily. Some chocolate in here. Interesting but fairly rough.

Bottle at ChrisO tasting, thanks to Ian, 30/12/12. Light black with a very thin tan head that clears immediately. Nose is soy sauce, dark malt, burnt toffee, wood. Taste is dark malt, harsh booze, sweet sugars, whisky tones, wood, more booze. Full bodied, flat as in terms of carbonation, harsh boozey finish. Ok - drinkable, lacking balance, rough around the edges.

Bottle at Chriso New Year 2012/13. Black beer soy sauce aroma. Too much soy sauce. ok

Bottle at Chriso’s tasting in London, 121230. Pitch black beer with a small brownish head. Malty vanilla aroma, roasted, oak, chocolate, caramel, perfume, solvent, licorice, some leather. Malty licorice flavor, caramel, vinous, figs, raisins, roasted, vanilla, oak, whisky notes.
