This is the very strongest of all Scottish ales, with a deep chestnut hue, profound maltiness and high alcohol content. Our Wee Heavy showcases complex toffee, caramel and smokey biscuit notes and a restrained hopping that lets through a smooth, rounded malty beast of a beer.
The Wee Heavy has been matured for over three months (in an oak whisky cask) to keep you warm and happy throughout the coldest of kaavie’s.

Lots of phenols but with no astringency. Palate is dry with complex wood notes. Mouthfeel a lot lighter than you may expect making it a very pleasant coming together of elements.

Bottle - Lots of Whisky and barrel notes. Murky dark brown with a decent beige head. Sweet malts with the barrel and Whisky dominating, too a little heat in the back of your throat. Very heavy with Whisky, but nice.

330ml bottle, not dated, 8.9% aged in 17yr Jura, topped with red wax. Poured into snifter. Dark brown / purple, no head at all. Aroma - TCP, whisky, sweet berries. Body is medium, smooth and watery, carbonation is very low. Taste - whisky heavy - the beer has been overtaken. Memories of whisky and coke. Heavily peated and semi-sweet. A bit weird - doesn’t work for me.

Pours a slightly hazy dark ruby brown with a thin rapidly fading head. Aroma starts with tons of whisky smokiness but this fades over time leaving some fruity notes, raisin perhaps and some sweet maltiness. The flavour bursts with fig pudding, raisins and rich brown sugar sweetness

330ml bottle. Nose is raisins ...raw booze. rich CASK texture age in a big way ..Complex malts and more malts ...cask texture showcases on the palate ,its almost sickly and relentless ..dark fruit like raisin on a sea of aged caramel malts ...

Nose is very strong, leather, petrol, oak, brown sugar. It’s intense, but not to my taste. Taste is biscuit, toffee, some smoke, leather, slight peat and sugars from the whiskey barrel. Mouthfeel is unpleasantly slick. This never really got going and I didn’t particularly enjoy, the sweetness of the whiskey was a little off putting.

Chris O February rummage 2012. Fruity aroma - intense. Fruity flavour - sticky, somewhat cloying. Few hops. OK.

Bottle shared at CBC - Clerkenwell, London - generously given to me for my 25th birthday by Canterbury homer Ian. Pours clearish ruby with a fine, beige cream head. Ripe fruit nose, berries, plums, dates. Big sweet flavor, big apple sauce character, some sugary malts. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, somewhat sticky, with more apple sauce, light spices, other ripe fruits, berries. Sweet but decent.
