COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the very strongest of all Scottish ales, with a deep chestnut hue, profound maltiness and high alcohol content. Our Wee Heavy showcases complex toffee, caramel and smokey biscuit notes and a restrained hopping that lets through a smooth, rounded malty beast of a beer.
The Wee Heavy has been matured for over three months (in an oak whisky cask) to keep you warm and happy throughout the coldest of kaavie’s.

Bottle shared at CBC - Clerkenwell, London - generously given to me for my 25th birthday by Canterbury homer Ian. Pours clearish ruby with a fine, beige cream head. Ripe fruit nose, berries, plums, dates. Big sweet flavor, big apple sauce character, some sugary malts. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, somewhat sticky, with more apple sauce, light spices, other ripe fruits, berries. Sweet but decent.

Bottle. Cheers to Leighton for the pour! The appearance is deep amber with a tiny head. The nose is really rich toffee, caramel, sweet fruits and apple. The taste is candied red apple, caramel. Robust brown bread. Plenty of grain. Earthy flavors. Slightly hot finish. Medium body. Not bad!

Shared bottle @Papsoe’s. Mid-brown qiute clear body. Low beige head. Rounded malt aroma. Nutty and plummy with berry notes. Medium malt body. Fairly sweet. Caramelly and cakey with a certain fruitiness. Subtle barrel tones. Discreet bitterness. Warming alcohol finish.

500ml bottle generously and unexpectedly given to me by the redoubtable harrisoni. Pours a slightly cloudy reddish, with a small largely frothy beige head. Really don’t know what to make of that aroma - very light sweet caramel malt with something vegetal - not in an ugly way, just ... fresh greenery ... not much alcohol, not much barrel character ... as it warms, it gets fairly vinous and stronger. Taste - there’s the barrel, and it’s sweeter, still a little red wine, and not big alcohol at all. Light, somewhat watery body, light carbonation, quick finish .... interesting, maybe a tad thin. Thanks, Ian!!

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, alcohol, malt, and a bit of yeast, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.
