Cask handpull at the Foundry Brewpub. Very dark brown with lasting cream head. Very choccy porter. Some roast but uts moderate. This is all about the smooth choc flavours. Yep its half decent. Good flavours. Good mouthfeel.

ChrisOs Christmas Tasting. Hazy dark red brown beer. Tidy pale tan head. Dry light fresh palate. Mild carbonation. Startling tangy mild dark malt. Very mild roast. Tangy dark fruits. Trace of coffee. Finishes with some hop bitterness. Nice.

Bottle @ home. Aroma is roasty malt, liquorice and burned molasses. Flavour is dry roasty malt and liquorice, slowly turning to a sweet finish with mostly liquorice. Nice one.

Bottle 500ml. @ chriso [ chrisos festive get-together tasting ].

Clear medium to dark amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark chocoaate, light roasted. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate, licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111230]

Cask (handpump) at Egham Beer Festival on 18 August 2011. A very satisfying dark, rich porter. Lots of chocolate. Firm hop presence, with fruity and herbal components. Excellent balance. My favourite of the Canterbury beers so far and one of my top picks at this festival.
