COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In March 2005, the brewery Cantillon had bought second hands barrels in the region of Cognac. For 15 years, the wood had been impregnate with cognac. Then for 2 years, our lambic has extracted all the flavors and aromas to make a unique gueuze. The name comes from the geographic location of the brewery.

Hazy gold beer. Sour and lemony but not out of control. The subtlest touch of cognac and oak peeping through. Just another overrated sour beer but at least drinkable.

Brought by urbancaver to yesterday’s whale tasting (BIG thanks, Cam). Looks good; like a good geuze. Smells great; sour. Tastes like angels in my mouth! This is AMAZING! Mouthfeel is awesome too. My new vote for best beer I’ve ever had.

Bottle from Ølbutikken. Barnyard, citrus, grape, apple, all with a bit of oak but utterly lacking in "cognac" :) Smooth (almost too much so?), hazy. Overall, not an essential Cantillon, but it was fun.

Appearance: Pours a hazy yellow gold with a thin white film.

Aroma: Barnyard funk, lemon and perfume.

Taste: Astringent tannins and sour funk. Not much malt presence. Finishes pretty bitter.

Mouthfeel: Puckering.

Overall: The cognac barrel treatment along with the particular yeast strain made this very earthy and bitter, I’d have to try more of this to see if I like it or not.

Bottle shared by Bill at the Philly tasting. Cloudy yellow pour with a white head. Stank ass feet aromas. Sour with citrus notes and some vanilla and oak from the barrels. Medium acidity, medium body, with wonderful balance. Had this side by side with Crianza and LH12. It might be my favorite of the three.

Bottle. Pours an unclear golden with a white head. Smells of horse blanket, barnyard, sour Brett. Tastes sweet, smooth, and sour. Very well blended.

Flaska på Akkurat - Stockholm 2011 Lite diskret doft. Aning spritig och söt. Inte mycket syrlighet och även frukten är borta. Ganska strev och torr vätska

Bottle at Akkurat, January 2012. Vintage 2007. Hazy golden with a small white head. Pleasant , rather soft sour aroma with oak, cognak and fruit. Tha taste was sour, but not extremely sour. Dry with grass, citrus some apples and oak. Also notes of "Cognac". This was an interesting and rather complex beer. Not as tasty as Cantillon Reed Gueuze Pinot Noir that we drank the same night but still very good.
