2013. Lila öl med lätt skum. Doft av bär och lätt funkighet. Smaken är även den bärig och här kommer en mer specifik blåbärssmak fram. Syrligheten är ganska lätt. Hade gärna fått vara mer framträdande.

Had the fortune to try a bottle at Ølbutikken tonight. Oh boy, this one's delicious. I could just smell the aroma for hours. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Vintage 2009 bottle from Richard. Pours a deep ruby color with small pink foam. Aromas of funk, oak, must, and mixed berry smoothie. The palate is sour and acidic, with flavors of slight oak, lemon, very light blueberry, lighter red fruit, tannin, and acid. Finishes dry.

09 Big bottle from Eric at a tasting, hazy reddish purple pour with thin sized pink head. Good carbonation. Aromas are beautiful with rich oak, blueberry skins, green grape skins, light barn, leather, and vino. Flavor is squished blueberry, acidic funk, fruit skin, light cream and wood. Lots of complex skinnage in this one. Medium body, lasting pucker finish. World class sour from Cantillon.

2010 Vintage

2/16/2011: Cantillon Blabaer Lambik... Aroma: Tart and slightly fruity; I smell fresh blueberry in the air, but I don’t get any when I put my nose right close to the beer. Appearance: Mauve color with a deep pink-colored head; turbid complexion. Flavor: Sour, tart, and fruity floral like blueberry; slightly puckering with some vinegar and medicinal qualities, but then soft and a bit spicy; dry and woody with some lingonberry in the finish. Palate: Medium-bodied; quite smooth. Overall: Really good, but extremely difficult to describe since it’s so complex with some much stuff going on; I can see why this is a top 50 beer, but I can’t really put into words why... EXACTLY!

Backlog review, 2010 (batch 6) bottle tasted 05/15/2011. Pours deep purple, almost read, one-finger pink foam fades slowly, active carbonation. Aroma is blueberries, oak and light lambic funk, delicate. Complex taste: sweet, sour berries on the front, lemon citrus in the middle, ends dry with vinegar and oak tannin, moderate acidity, lingering blueberry aftertaste- almost wine-like as it warms. Light body, well balanced and round. Overall not far and above other Cantillon fruit lambics, but undoubtedly very nice.

Bottle at Armin’s, courtesy of Dave. Huge thanks for this man!!! Pour is hazy reddish-purple with a big pink head and decent lacing. Big dark berry, grape skins, cheesy, somewhat waxy, funky, doughy, red wine, oaky, light leather, and raspberry aroma. Taste is so smooth - fruity, tangy, red wine, blueberry, slightly funky, lacto, vanilla, cheesy, oak, funk, and light urine with a medium sour finish. Medium mouthfeel with high/crisp carbonation. Very well-balanced, yet hugely fruit forward and super easy to drink. What a wonderful beer and an incredible treat to try.
