4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Backlog review, 2010 (batch 6) bottle tasted 05/15/2011. Pours deep purple, almost read, one-finger pink foam fades slowly, active carbonation. Aroma is blueberries, oak and light lambic funk, delicate. Complex taste: sweet, sour berries on the front, lemon citrus in the middle, ends dry with vinegar and oak tannin, moderate acidity, lingering blueberry aftertaste- almost wine-like as it warms. Light body, well balanced and round. Overall not far and above other Cantillon fruit lambics, but undoubtedly very nice.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle at Armin’s, courtesy of Dave. Huge thanks for this man!!! Pour is hazy reddish-purple with a big pink head and decent lacing. Big dark berry, grape skins, cheesy, somewhat waxy, funky, doughy, red wine, oaky, light leather, and raspberry aroma. Taste is so smooth - fruity, tangy, red wine, blueberry, slightly funky, lacto, vanilla, cheesy, oak, funk, and light urine with a medium sour finish. Medium mouthfeel with high/crisp carbonation. Very well-balanced, yet hugely fruit forward and super easy to drink. What a wonderful beer and an incredible treat to try.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
750ml Batch 8. It pours with a nice purple hue and a very nice purpleish head. SMell is funky with barnyard, spice, bluberry skin, lemon, sour, wood. Flavor is mild and subdued. Tart flavor, medium to low sourness, medium funk. Nicely balanced. VEry nice beer.

Amazingly complex palate. Savor each sip to get the full experience. Good bit of tart, but overall crisp finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Obviously I am not a sour guy, no matter how hard I try. This is dry, funky and has a ton of blueberries, but doesn"t quite tickle my palate the right way. Still its a great beer, but I preferred the mellower, more austere Mamouche to this. Couldn’t taste the rareness on this one.

Rating 1000 at the RB Japan Gathering. Thanks to Sune! I had been wanting to drink this for a long time. Maybe got a bit over excited and didn’t write much.
’Aroma lovely, fruity, lovely. Pretty sour finish. Beautiful.’
Basically the usual Cantillon classiness and sourness with a different fruit which I also happen to like. Got to be a winner. Plus you could taste the rareness...

Hazy purple color. Blueberries, leather, funk and barnhouse. Uber sour with blueberries. Like a sour blueberry milkshake.
