3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 KAME (160) - California, USA - NOV 9, 2009UPDATED: NOV 12, 2009 Placeholder until a re-rate. Had a bottle from what I believe was March 2009, Batch 4?. Very disappointing and nothing like I remembered. Now I need to drink a bottle from the cellar (Batch 002) and hope to erase this bad memory.

Amazingly complex palate. Savor each sip to get the full experience. Good bit of tart, but overall crisp finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jonno (2001) - JAPAN - APR 10, 2013
Obviously I am not a sour guy, no matter how hard I try. This is dry, funky and has a ton of blueberries, but doesn"t quite tickle my palate the right way. Still its a great beer, but I preferred the mellower, more austere Mamouche to this. Couldn’t taste the rareness on this one.

Bottle at RBJG 2 Grand Tasting, thanks sunevdj. 2009 vintage. Red colour with a small white head. Some lacing. Sour berry aroma. Very sour flavour with hints of berries. Sour berry aftertaste.
4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 shoulderbroken (1144) - Tokyo, JAPAN - APR 2, 2013
Rating 1000 at the RB Japan Gathering. Thanks to Sune! I had been wanting to drink this for a long time. Maybe got a bit over excited and didn’t write much.
’Aroma lovely, fruity, lovely. Pretty sour finish. Beautiful.’
Basically the usual Cantillon classiness and sourness with a different fruit which I also happen to like. Got to be a winner. Plus you could taste the rareness...
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 TimE (2584) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAR 30, 2013
Hazy purple color. Blueberries, leather, funk and barnhouse. Uber sour with blueberries. Like a sour blueberry milkshake.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jrgratz (113) - New York, USA - MAR 13, 2013
2012 75cl Bottle at Torst.. shared with Mark. Pour is a light blue/purple with a nice white head. Aroma of tart blueberries. Taste is same. Drinks like a nice sparkling blueberry soda. Finished the bottle in 3-5 minutes. Really tasty.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 jesperhammer (2203) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 4, 2013
02-MAR-2013, 2010 vintage 0,375 l bottle, @home, from Ølbutikken.
Opened with Morten to celebrate a huge tax refund. I have been holding on to this bottle since release. How will it present itself?
Pours slightly hazy red with lasting, lacing pink head.
Aroma is blueberry, tart, gun powder - lactic, and funk.
Taste the same. Mostly just pure blueberry juice.
Quite full body, soft but still lively carbonation with a long tart and blueberry finish.
My first perfect beer, my first perfect 5. Must seek out again:-)
The perfect 5 may be influenced by the hype around the brew and/or the tax refund, but this IS the best beer I have had.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jbruner (1117) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 1, 2013
2007 vintage (not sure if it was batch 2 or 3) shared thanks to mlunger12 at RBWG! Pours a hazy reddish purple from the bottle with thin ring of white lacy head. Aroma of funky farmhouse yeast and tart fruit; taste follows, bittery tart awesomeness. Wow, this was pretty awesome.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 nulledge (25) - Florida, USA - FEB 24, 2013
2007 vintage I believe shared at the RBWG courtesy of mlunger12. Poured from 75 cl bottle into a tulip. Violet color fading to watery blue transparency on the edges. Little/no carbonation with thin off-white head that quickly faded. Nose is acidic funk, vinegar, blueberry skins. Taste is similar with tart blueberry, lemon rind, and tannins. Very crisp and dry. Excellent.
