Bottle, shared with Bergen Beer Geek Tasting Crew’s Epic Abstrakt/Blåbær tasting, feat. special guests Foffern and StoreMy. :-) Whohooo! At last. After all this time. All this effort. All the money, sweat and frustrations. A bit thanks to Mogens in Copenhagen for getting us this! :-) 2011 bottle. Expectations are sky-high, let’s see if it delivers. Deep cherry-hued pink body with a medium, creamy dense pink retention. Aroma is mild and oh so balanced bretty tones with loads of berries, each one progressing as the aroma whiffs out: black currants, red currants, blackberries and finally - as it fades out: sweet blueberry. Hints of leather and barnyard funk. Taste is tart, dry grape and barnyard funky tones with sour blueberry notes. Blueberry is present throughout the palate, with hints of zesty lemon and horseblanket towards the end. Absolutely awesome, and worth its hype without a doubt. I really like the fact that the subtle berries actually make their way through the stable and sour tones. I’m not sure if this is the best sour I’ve ever tasted, but it’s definitely up there, at least in the fruit division. Sure glad to have tried this.

Truly complex lambic, tart blueberry aroma with funk, pours murky purple, big sour finish. One of my all time favorite sours.

750ml Batch 8. It pours with a nice purple hue and a very nice purpleish head. SMell is funky with barnyard, spice, bluberry skin, lemon, sour, wood. Flavor is mild and subdued. Tart flavor, medium to low sourness, medium funk. Nicely balanced. VEry nice beer.

Amazingly complex palate. Savor each sip to get the full experience. Good bit of tart, but overall crisp finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Obviously I am not a sour guy, no matter how hard I try. This is dry, funky and has a ton of blueberries, but doesn"t quite tickle my palate the right way. Still its a great beer, but I preferred the mellower, more austere Mamouche to this. Couldn’t taste the rareness on this one.

Rating 1000 at the RB Japan Gathering. Thanks to Sune! I had been wanting to drink this for a long time. Maybe got a bit over excited and didn’t write much. ’Aroma lovely, fruity, lovely. Pretty sour finish. Beautiful.’ Basically the usual Cantillon classiness and sourness with a different fruit which I also happen to like. Got to be a winner. Plus you could taste the rareness...

Hazy purple color. Blueberries, leather, funk and barnhouse. Uber sour with blueberries. Like a sour blueberry milkshake.
