4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This lambic beer matures for over 3 years on oaken barrels. This lambic beer has a very unique and special colour and aroma. The Cantillon Grand Cru is mostly consumed in a regular wine glass.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A fresh bottle that was bottled October 6th, 2014. Pours a slightly unclear golden with no head and no lacing. Still, just like it should be. Nose is really woody, of wet wood, cheese and light damp basement. Taste is lightly tart, fruity and oaky. Lemony. Body is light, carbonation nil and mouthfeel a bit thin but nothing I cannot forgive. It is really drinkable, even more so than I remembered. I put the rest of the bottle in a carafe and will come back to it through the evening to see how it evolves. Really nice!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours clear golden with no head at all. The nose is mineral and tannic.. Some leathery notes a little citrus and hints of oak. The mouthfeel is where I struggle the most with this beer. Every time I try this, I’m a bit let down that it has absolutely no carbonation. The taste is seriously vinous, mineral and dry which continues in the aftertaste. Not my favorite expression..

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden clear color, no foam. Old feet, cheese and the typical sour stuff in the nose. No carbonation at all. Sour, funky and a bit too dry. Nice beer, Very sour, but a bit under its hype.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear light brown to amber, with a nice big white head. Nose is funky, sour lactobacillus, little white wine vinous, slight vinegar, brown air exposed apple flesh, musty, doughy bread. Taste is tart and sour, funky and musty, green apple, wine vinegar, white wine vinous, bread, tangy. Very nice. So good I polished off a whole bottle pretty quickly.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
75cl corked and capped bottle at home, 2011 version - bottled in 2014. Transparent golden colour, no head. Nose and taste are quite complex, unlike any lambic I’ve tasted yet: not too sour with barnyard, skunky tones coming through nicely, fruity lemon zest and white grapes, warming malty (?) sweetness, cask notes too. Lingering finish, with sourness building up. No carbonation, soft and dry mouthfeel, good body (especially considering 5% abv). Authentic, pure lambic.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
2001 label, 2004 cork date bottle via a trade back in 2009 for some Knuckle Sandwich. Finally opened a bottle at the March Libertine Bottle Share 2015. Pours a light orange with no head, obviously. Nose is funky socks, slight sweet pear. Taste is mild sour with some more funk and raisin. Nice but this is probably better fresh.
