Commercial Description:
A new brew concocted by Jean Van Roy to celebrate the 2003-2004 Division III title for the local Union St. Gilles football team and its upgrade to Division II.

Cuvee des Champions is not a traditional 'gueuze,' in that it is made from only two year-old 2001 lambic, not from a blend of older and younger lambics. It is also dry-hopped in the cask for three weeks with fresh Styrian Goldings hops. Re-fermentation in the bottle is achieved with the addition of a small amount of candi sugar.

Bottle. Pale amber beer with a whitish head. Acetic, vinegry aroma with oak and a bit of grass. Tart, acetic, lemony flavor with wood and grassy hops. Medium bodied. Lingering tart, acetic, lemon with light orange, grass, and wood. Hops definitely there. Cork on bottle burst in half when opened.

25.4 oz, bottled 2005. The last of my oceanside ratings; Bethany, DE. Clear straw orange with a ring of white froth. Nose is funky lemon pith with touches of honey, oak and basil. Body is medium light and juicy with tiny carb. Taste is sour lemon up front with cheese, maybe gouda, cranberry, apricot and cherry skins.

Poured a golden color with a nice white lacing. The funk on the nose was sweet. This had some funk to it with a grapefruit bite. This finished with a small funk bite to it.This was one the more enjoyable gueuzes I have had.

75 cL bottle, brewed in 2005. Pours hazy orange and with a white, semi-lasting - slowly diminishing with a nice lacework left. Aroma is mild orange fruit and nicely blended with a dry wood and brett-citric aroma, dry horseblanket too. Dry wooden initial flavour. Hops seem to completely gone. Shows a nice citric flavour following this. Mild sulphorish note before the finish. Smooth and balanced wood and delicate fruit flavour into the finish. Seems to have a bit of bitterness into the far finish.

2008 Vintage according to the cork. Almost champagne like effervescence. Excellent lemony aroma with light spices; clove and mace. Flavor is true to the aroma. Very tasty.

Thanks to BDR. Orange pour with a bubbly white head. Light fruits and funk on the nose. The aroma is wonderful. Sour deliciousness. Carbonation in the body. The funkiness and light fruit are there in the taste as well.

2005 Vintaged cork, bottled in 2005, so brewed in 2002. Got this a long while back in a trade and have been saving it to drink with my brother. Shared with him and my girlfriend Cyn. Pours golden orange with a bright white ring. Nose is very funky, and very very good and supremely appealing. Taste is very tart very funky with lots of fruit and some light hop bitterness that could remain. This tastes amazing.
