tokyogoat (503), San Diego, California, USA Aug 26, 2009 Poured a peach yellow with ample foamy head. Nose is heavy with floral and slight horse blanket.
Taste is sour, almost like a sour patch klid sour, slight vinegar, big citrus tart. Its like the Orangina of sours. Scauca (408), Lovere, Italy Aug 21, 2009 Tap @ Abbazia di Sherwood. Muddy golden with no head at all. Smells hoppy, spicy with all the range of funky notes peculiar to the style. Tastes bitter, hoppy, toward a sour end. Snojerk321 (1908), San Diego, California, USA Aug 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours a cloudy deep lemony yellow with no head. Big funk, tart citrus peel, very very faint herbal hop notes in the background. Lots of tart citrus and underlying funk dominating this brew. Finishes very tart and dry on the palate. vtafro (452), , New Jersey, USA Aug 10, 2009 Tap @ SDBF’09. My favorite of the beers on tap for the day. Was interesting to see the difference of a gueuze blended with 3 two year old lambics rather than the usual method. Definitely a must try.Great flavored gueuze with citrus and funky sour notes. nbutler11 (727), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 8, 2009 Bottle shared by Shyam -- thank you! Pours a hazy apricot color with a trim off-white head. Smells of sour funkiness and potpourri. Very approachable and balanced in flavor for a sour. Tastes of underripe oranges, floral hops, tart fruit and lemon zest. Well done. ajm (901), Los Angeles, California, USA Jul 29, 2009 Bottle graciously shared by Shyam. Cork said 2008, consumed a year after he purchased it. My great thanks. Finishes what Iris starts. Nose is an earthy funk with that jasmine-like delicate floral quality that is ridiculously unified. I want these guys to dry-hop my corpse because these are the most beautiful hops in the world. Flavor is more of the same and what results is a sour that is so fresh it is unlike fruit or vinegar or wine - maybe I was being unobservant but I feel it is a perfectly unified floral sour. Really something. This will be the one I keep around. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Jul 28, 2009 2003-2004
6/19/2008: Cuvée des Champions appears to be clear and is light copper in color with a frothy, soft, off-white to light beige head. This beer smells like a "wet horse blanket". It is sour, tart, acidic, and has lots of vinegar in both the flavor and aroma. However, it is surprising balanced and smooth. Overall it is very good.
75 cl bottle (Alc. 5% vol.). Rating #311 for this beer.
