An extremely enjoyable lambic that hits all the top marks for fruit delivery, bright acidity, pulpiness (body) and aroma. The pour leaves a large frothy foam, you can already smell the hallmark stone fruit aromas.. The sourness of the French apricots really comes through as this beer ages. A 2002 bottle sampled at Captain Lawrence in 2009 was nearly undrinkable due to acidity, however 2005 bottlings I’ve opened recently have been much more integrated. The demi 2008 Japanese bottling shared most recently in Maine this December was extremely tart and almost enamel stripping, but had a more subdued nature than previous vintages with the same amount of age. Really like to drink this fresh but aging can be a rewarding exercise of patience.

Bottle at Café des Spores. Pours a luminous orange--almost apricot--color with small fluffy head. Aroma is about the best one could imagine for this sort of beer: ripe farmers’ market apricot, lemon, orange marmalade, slight farmhouse Brett character. So juicy and inviting. Taste is apricot jam, sour plum, peaches, light bitter almond, a beautiful mixture of sweet and tart. Long finish. Just so good.

Intense beer. Stron sour body of lambic, with a acid tardiness that tries to burn through your mouth. Smooth gentle taste abricot after that. Some horseblanket and vanilla as well. Real wild beer art from the masters of Cantillon.

Bottle shared at Schouskjelleren, october 1st 2013. Hazy orange body, small lasting white head. Funky aroma with blue veined cheese, leather, apricot. Taste is sour with ripe fruits and the same blue veined cheese tones. Lasting funky yeast aftertaste. An excellent experience

Hand drawn at Backcountry on Sour Sunday. Pours hazy orange with very small white head, settles almost instantly with no lacing. Aroma is tart, funky, musty, barnyard, oaky, apricot, mild vinegar, acidic. Flavor is moderately tart, building slightly, dried apricot, with an oaky, tart, vinegar, mildly vinous finish and lingering oaky, sour apricot aftertaste. Delicious. Minimal carbonation allows flavors to come through. Very soft carbonation, light body, smooth and mildly juicy texture. Interested in comparing bottled version to taste it with more substantial carbonation.

Thanks drowland for snagging a bottle. Pours a milky orange. Apricots abound in the aroma, both sweet and tart. Some oak in the nose. Taste is perfectly tart and sweet apricots. Just a little sour and a hint of acidity. Medium bodied with nice carbonation, a little dryness. Magnificent!
