4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Brought this out for Jay’s bachelor party. Congrats Jay and Patty! Pours a hazy faint orange in color with a small amount of tight white head. The nose is perfection....the pinnacle of what every beer should smell like. It’s like apricot purée, apricot jam, and fresh apricot skin all shoved into one glass. It’s bliss. The flavor is a balance of apricot, lemon, oak, and funk. It’s incredibly sour, but not yet bracing. I much prefer fresh Fou Foune to aged bottles because of the balance sour and apricot. Mouthfeel is light, it’s acidic, gentle carbonation, and a long, pleasant finish. I’m hard pressed to think of many beers that surpass Fou Foune in quality. It is one of the best fruit lambic from probably the best brewery in the world. I need like 70 more bottles of this.

Vintage 2013, vieillit 1 an. Très sour, bien acidulée et le goût de l’abricot est parfaitement équilibré avec les saveurs. Amertume très courte.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Most kindly shared by Oldmanriver and with bartlebier and Bierle. Aromas of ripe apricots, oak and vanilla, mingled with a tender tartness. The taste is even more complex, something so rare. Bringing on an apricot universe, zooming into all stages of an apricot’s beautiful and simple life, from almost still green with this blackthorny sourness via its juicy, sweet and mouthwatering sourish heyday over to the near jam-like overripe stage with tartness being softened by the onset of mildly decomposing spots. Wonderful!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a cloudy orange/yellow with a nice fluffy white head. Looks marvelous. Aroma was very odd to me. I was expecting some fruit burst with apricot, but it was more like a vinegar and sour beer smell. Taste was almost dead on to me for a standard sour. I got some hay, barnyard funk, and tartness to it. I’m not sure if I was just expecting more, or my tastes are off, or I drank a bad one. Not bad, and sours don’t bother me, but I was thinking this would be 100% different. Light body and well carbed.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught at Borefts. Considering the way the kegs are being butchered at the bar, it looks good - clear, pale, slight head. Aroma of peach skins and old-school homemade lemonade, and a bit of the farmyard. Flavour is lemon juice cut with effervescent peach, fizzes off the palate into long, sour and dry finish. A wonderful beer, classic lambic imbued with the essence of peach.

Corked 75 cl bottle @ home (2014 vintage). Pours hazy yellow with a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are lemons, apricots, lactose, and a little funk - with a slightly dry finish.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
On tap at Capone’s 2014 Black Friday. Pours a completely cloudy orangey yellow without a head. Aromas of apricots, sour lacto aroma, slight farm funk. Taste is at the upper end of sour for a drinkable beer. Medium light body and medium light carb. Really enjoyable. One of my favorite Cantillon beers althought it was a tad bit overly sour.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Cloudy orange with frothy white head. Smell is fruity with just a bit of funk. Taste is quite tart with some nice stone fruit notes. Medium body with very good carbonation making it very easy drinking and refreshing. Definitely one of the best fruit lambics.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Last bottle at Fermentoren Aarhus. Had this a couple of times under less good circumstances. Pours cloudy yellow-amber with a small white head. Aroma has lots of both acidic and more ripe apricot and some peach as well. Funky yeast, slight vinegar and dry leather. Taste is very bitter and sour up front, but turns more sweet and fruity, and ends off with some more bitterness. Very fruity. Prominent apricots, and reminds me of a Danish skyr-snack with apricots. Sparkling, fresh body. Really a lovely lambic!
