UPDATED: JAN 25, 2012 Bottle thanks to bro from the other site, looks murky no lace little retaining head. Aroma is big on apricots, some funk, barnyard, tart, the balance is really what is crazy impressive Taste, the apricot flavor is constant but the tart funk has a parabolic trajectory. The finish is apricot. Fucking amazing

Enbotellada en agosto 2011.Color naranja con un poco de turbiedad. Agradable corona de espuma que persiste. En nariz es puro albaricoque,Que acompaña hasta el final.Acidez poca,en comparación con otras.Muy agradable de beber.Magnifica

My best Lambic fruit. Fantastic fresh apricot smell with a little earthiness. It smells like country. The taste is apricot, apricot, apricot, and a slight lemony sourness. It so easy to drink, so refreshing, so well done. a must have Lambic !

750mL 2010 split two ways. A - clear golden with a finger of white head, a few spots on the glass. S - fresh apricots, lemon, a touch of oak with even less funk apparent in the nose. T - Delicious ripe apricots, peaches, tart green apples, lemon rind, and a lingering funk. Very bright but well balanced. M - light body and carbonation glides over the tongue and finishes crisp and dry. The first time I had this beer it was 6 years old and it was a sour bomb. The fruit was barely kicking, but it was still enjoyable. I would have to say I prefer the fresh bottles for the great balance of sweet and sour. My favorite fruit lambic to date.

2011 bottle. Pours a nice orange color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is really tart, filled with tart apricots, sublte peachy notes, along with vinegar and some funk like barnyard and musty notes. Taste is really sour with lots of apricot and peach notes, I also get a subtle green apple and white grape flavor, subtle citrus, along with vinegar along with barnyard funk and musty notes. The body is light with a dry mouthfeel. Overall one amazing fruit Lambic, in the same range as Blåbær!

Draught at Mikkeller Bar. Copenhagen. Zwanze Day, 17th September 2011.
Keg from August 2011 so the fruit characteristics was well preserved
This is hands down the most refreshing, appealing fruit lambic I’ve ever tried. It portraits the apricots in a stunning way. The aroma and taste is just filled with fresh apriciots and on top of that some earthy mineral and herb notes. It’s funky, sour and just devine. I had 4-5 or five glasses of this and if it wasn’t for the train I had to catch I would probably have gone for 5 more!

UPDATED: OCT 31, 2011 Tried the 2011 vs a 2008. The 2011 has alot of apricot faroma, together with much apricot taste. The 2008 has lost much of the apricot aroma/taste, but has the old very sour Cantillon taste. Now the thing is, you just need to mix those two together and create your own Zwanze, it’s the best of both worlds. A nice old sour Cantillon with lots of caracter and the great apricot aroma and taste. Finish this with a little bit of a good white whine which aged on an oak barrel and you’ve created your own blend.
