zeke626 (181), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Apr 28, 2008 Thanks to BDR for sharing. 2002 vintage bottle, pours a cloudy, yellow-orange body with white head. Funky aroma with sour citrus character. Incredibly sour fruit flavor makes this a difficult beer to drink. Once you get used to it a bit, the apricot, lemon, and peach flavors start to come out a bit. Medium bodied, mouth-puckering mouthfeel. Acidy, citrus finish.
kmweaver (1800), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Jul 13, 2008 750mL bottle, sampled at the 1st Annual Shenandoah Beer Throwdown, courtesy of wickedpete. Thanks, Pete!! Pours a hazy, straw-orange color; light off-white head with patchy lacing. Loads of funk (stinky feet, cheese, barnyard funk), apricots, and peachy sweetness in the aroma; good levels of acidity; nice combination of sweet fruit characer and loads of funked sourness; great nose. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: enormous amounts of tartness, sour apricots and peaches; funk, horseblanket, and cheese; again, an excellent rendition of a fruity and intensely funky / soured lambic; great stuff. Lengthy finish: tart peaches / citrus, funk, and some soft oak. weaselkenievil (282), Cheshire, England Jul 7, 2008 Last beer of a behemoth of a session provided by Mes. I don’t like fruit and despise apricot so you could have twatted me with a feather when I loved this. Stunk of pig shit. Fresh, sweet and the right balance of tartiness. Very hard to put down and very refreshing. pepsican (640), the beer wastelands of, Iowa, USA Jul 7, 2008 I can’t believe it took me so long to try this. Hazy lemon colored pour, small white head. Tart peach aroma. Flavor is sour peach, grapes, tannins, citrus, lemons...wow. Finishes nice and sour, I was sipping for a bit. This is great. azlondon (461), Greater London, England Jun 30, 2008 Appearance: Cap&Cork. Light orange, cloudy. Very little head.
Aroma: Sour, little bit fruity. Apricot.
Taste: Pretty sour. Bit of fruit. Quenching.
Info: 375ml bottle, 7/2-2007, 162/300 JB175 (1269), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 23, 2008 Golden color with a clean white head. Aroma is a bit sour and funky with apricots, fresh orange, and light sugar. Flavor of candied apricots and tart, citrusy lambic with a nice bit of acidity. Solid feel with a medium pucker factor. Very good and different enough to distinguish itself. Another fine Cantillon!
