Vintage 1979 - enjoyed at Kulminator in Antwerp with my wife and Carlo (Lachesis)!
Golden copper colored with a small off-white head. Fruity and vinous aroma with some tones of raspberries but more of cloudberries, it reminds me a lot of the Cantillon Soleil de Minuit I had last year at Akkurat in Stockholm. Shows some sign of the age but still tart and very refreshing. Flavor shows a little bit of sourness, but is mellow and doesn’t has the sharpness of a fresh Cantillon. Dry and woody with rhubarb tones. Some cellar characters, but considering it’s is 26 years old it is very well preserved. Complex and very speciel.

On tap at Brouwer’s Big Wood. Pours cloudy hot pink with a white head. Aroma of funk, soured raspberries, and tartness. Flavour is quite acidic with the above mentioned qualities. Great flavour to begin with, but loses flavour a little too quickly. Nice and dry.

Bright cranberry-red. No head. Sweet tea aroma. Flat tea, raspberry tart flavors. Notes: Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation ’10

2011 bottle. Golden yellow with a great head that retains. Nice fruity smell that is very inviting. Tart fruitiness that makes my mouth watee

On tap at Brouwer’s for Big Wood, pours an opaque reddish orange with a small white head. Aroma of sour raspberries - high tartness - tons of funk and zesty qualities. Flavour is intensely dry and sour, with loads of funk, sour sour raspberries, and some vinous notes. Very complex and enjoyable.

Test vom 21.4.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 13,14,15,14,-,14 - 14,05

This should be aliased with Rose De Gambrinus. Bottle and tap on several occasions. Pours pinkish red with a small off white pink head. Earthy , tart and fresh prickling raspberries surrounding nose and flavor. Funky, fresh and really dry and tart finish! Lovely!

Another sensational experience as well as for the Kriek. In this case I felt the raspberry very much. Of course the fruity taste it is very noticeable to me. Despite that, it is still sharp and pungent.

2006 vintage, on tap at Brouwer’s Big Wood 2010. Pours a reddish pink, with a small strawberry colored head. Aroma is right on line with the flavor - this stuff is seriously sour, and will make you pucker like a fish that found a lemon to suck on. Unlike many of the other Cantillon brews, though, this one has a wonderfully sweet undertone that helps reel it in a bit. ... A bit. Still seriously sour, and I’m not sure I could ever get past that. Glad I tried it, but I’ll take something from New Belgium or a good gueuze any day of the week.

2006 vintage. The pour reveals a cloudy cranberry red color with almost no head. The aroma is funky and tart with a good dose of raspberries, very appealing. The flavor is very good, funky/wild, quite tart and again lots of raspberries. The body is light with a dusty, cobwebby feeling and soft carbonation. This is a true Cantillon lambic.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive light red foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained no carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a clear red color and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is light hoppy bitter with a fruity touch. This beer smells to light acid.
