The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

Light tart lemonade, negligible qualities of funk, yogurt, always tastes kinda like a berliner more than a real gueuze. Definitely one of the lesser straightforward gueuzes that Cantillon produces, but still tasty.

From notes. On tap at Mikkeller Bar SF for Zwanze Day. Surprised to see I have never rated this. Aroma has some subdued acidity with moderate herbal and earthy funk. Light lemon and orange peel with some hints of tropical fruit. Pours a cloudy orange with a large white head that displays good retention and light lacing. Non existent legs. Flavor has medium high acidity with some moderate barnyard funk. Some light herbal and earthy notes. Light citrus and tropical fruit character with a hint of oak. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice vintage and certainly better than the 2013 bottle I recently opened. Nice herbal notes with good, though young acidity.

"different yellow label w/guy falling off his stool...ciderish and funky tart aroma comes out of the popple after it’s popped. lively carbonation but little head. lots of baryard, lemon, granny smiths and funk in the flavor, yet still pretty light on the palate. missing the green olive taste, which is a good thing. if all in the style were like this, i could begin to see what the fuss is all about. pretty steep for a good beer, though."

375ml bottle from Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours light gold with slight haze. Aroma is bright and colourful, taste is hugely complex with berries, spice, vanilla, sour and a constantly evolving sweetness with a dry finish. A beautiful, mesmerising Gueuze.

Orange golden color, with a very quick disappearing head. Oaky aroma, sour gueuze. Sour taste, as the girardin. IMO the Boon Gueuze was better than those oak-conditioned gueuzes as Girardin and Cantillon.

Fat på Akkurat delad med @msbrindbergs. Dimmig guldfärgad vätska med lågt vitt skum. Doftar övermogen frukt, åt det sura hållet. Sur smak med en stor bitterhet. God men inte riktigt min grej.

Fat på Akkurat. Dimmig mörkgul vätska, vitt skum. Doftar surt äpple, punkt. Smakar surt, punkt. Det vita fruktköttet på citronen ligger kvar och nöter. Inte min typ av öl... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at Borefts ’14. Pale golden with almost no head. Medium body with quite some carbonation. Very present sourness with some bitter tones. Citrus, apple, grass and funk. A sour quality brew.

20/11/13 dated 37cl bottle to champagne tulip, the gueuze pours a turbid orange with a white fizzling head that disappears leaving no lacing. Aroma consists of apple, sour funk, lemon/orange peel, latex gloves, some floral aromas as well. Pretty complex but not as wowing as the fruit blended lambic. Taste is sour but not bracingly so...however there is a slight plastic element there in the background, though mostly overshadowed by the sour elements and other complexities. Beer is definitely palatable, how can you not like Cantillon? Mouthfeel is very dry, co2 is quite low, but it’s very drinkable and refreshing. Overall, great beer but I prefer the fruit versions. This is complex but the fruit additions give it more depth.

Draft at Zwanze day 2014, birch bar norfolk VA. Pours a clear peach color with an off white head. Tart aroma, citrus, funk, hay. Sour funk flavor. Citrus, long lingering tartness in the finish. Solid.
