COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

Had many bottles of this as close to perfect as beer can get. Intense sour tart cheese barnyard funkiness with citrus grapes and yeast. Quite heavily carbonated, perfect. I’ve tried it straight from the barrel at the brewery and that’s even better 4.8

Keg at The Hop & The Glory- 15th May. Well the first thing to note is there isn't as much carbonation as the bottled version. But frankly that's a good thing. I won't bore you with the rest of the details. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Classic bottle. 2011 Vintage. This truly was awesome. I haven’t been disappointed by a Cantillon yet. This certainly puts the silk and finesse back into a bottle of Gueuze. One the most drinkable examples that I’ve ever that experienced. Doesn’t destroy your palate or make your stomach curdle. Just tastes great. While not the best sour that I’ve ever had, I would happily drink this before most. Very well done.

Bottle. Pours hazy straw yellow, a finger of milky white head. Lively carbonation. Horse blanket and meadowgrass up front, huge acetic tartness. Lots of grapefruit and tangerine, hay, pee, light woody notes. More wood on the backend, biscuity malt finish. Nice and clean.

Bottle from Cotteridge wines. Orange amber beer with no head. Aroma of light vinegar and cat piss. Taste is again a little light vinegar, white wine and very tart and sour. Not one for me I’m afraid, big disappointment.

Bottled Feb 3, 2012. Been awhile since I've had this one, and that's a shame. Funky cheese, lemon citrus, and yeast aroma. Taste follows suit with more lemon peel than expected and a delicious, dry sourness profile on my palate. So, I strongly prefer this to the 3F Oude Geuze & OGV, and I'm happy to be in the minority here. Classic Gueuze is simply fantastic, and I need more ASAP.

750 ml bottle at home, poured in Cantillon gueuze glass. APPEARANCE: hazy yellow to light gold, with a decent creamy head, slowly dissipating in a fine, champagne alike thin white head. AROMA: citrus, tangerine peel and grapefruit at first, hten the barnyard funk, let it be in a very subtle way PALATE: at first, a surprisingly bittersweet kick, the sourness slightly building up to end in a dry bitterness. But with a very round and creamy body. Wow! TASTE: Ripe exotic fruits, especially grapefruit (like) and a bit of citrus. Aftertaste is malt (like bread). OVERALL: very drinkable gueuze, has evolved over the years to a rounder body and less acidic taste. Approachable, still very complex. Definte like! Jean is a KING when it comes to taste, body and complexity, especially knowing that this beer is extremely hard to produce. Respect!
