Commercial Description:
The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

This was the first Gueze i had tried. It pours a meadium cloudy golden colour with a sexy white head. The aroma is outrageously complex. Lemon Citrus, old oak, slightly savoury, a touch of elderflower, almost barnyard, leather, a touch smokey, mild vanilla. I could smell this all day long. Tastes of lemon citrus, sour, tart, high acidity, clean, great length, dry finish. Very refreshing, Not being that familar with Gueuze i did not expect it to taste quite like that from what i smelt of the nose. This beer reminds me of a riesling of gruner vetliner. I think i’m addicted.

Bottled: 22Feb08 Rated: 05Nov09 Golden pour with a small head. Aroma is very fruity, with tart gooseberries, elderflower and unripe raspberries along with funky and goaty notes hiding underneath. Mild oaky notes show themselves later on. Upon tasting, first of all I’ve gotta say, this is pretty damn tart, almost bitter, like biting into a lemon through the skin and all. A fair whack of acidity, with little in the way of balancing sweetness. Once you’ve got used to it some oak and funk comes through. Not bad after a couple of sips! Light body and carbonation - I would have liked it to be more lively!

Bottle. Pours an unclear yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is horsecover, acidic and tart. The flavor is sour and acidic. The palate is dry. Overall a good geueze, but not my favoritetype.

Sweet, lemony citrus peel aroma. Hazy golden. Wood with tart, bitter/citrus flavor like lemon peel. Smooth texture.

Bottled May 2008. Smells of fresh juicy lemon, oak and nettle. Very slight haze to the gold, strong effervescence, beautiful. So damn tasty! Refreshing, tart, gentle, serene, grapefruit, morning dew and relaxing.

Bottled 375ml. It pours a murky copper beer with a small head. Wonderful, deeply inviting and strong aroma of lemon peel, oak, vinegar, cork, leather and barnyard. Great taste with hints of vinegar, vanilla, lemon peel, rhubarb, oak, dandelion and hops. Great acidity. Long, very dry finish which is reminiscent of lemon peel and rhubarb. A wonderful beer.

Golden pour with a small white head that sticks around the edges. Clean, acidic aroma. Sour apple, apricot maybe? The flavor so acidic that the exact nature of the fruit flavors is hard to discern, but it tastes good regardless. Pretty mild actually, not terribly bitter. Possibly some white grape as well. Good beer,

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained no carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a clear orange color and a light acid taste. The after tast of the beer is light hoppy bitter with a fruity touch. This beer smells to light acid.
