The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

Big thanks to tectactoe. Bright yellow pour with a bright white foamed rim. A lemon zest huge funk aroma. Perfect acidity. Immediately settles with a sweet bubblegum. Grassy sour notes. White grape tartness. Dry finish. Really drinkable.

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2015 Cloudy golden-yellow color with little foam. Smell is sour and not too intense with additional old feet flavors. The taste a little dry and it is exactly the right amount of sour with fitting carbonation. The aftertaste could be longer and more sour, but this is complaining at irresponsible high levels.

Bottle at home (bottled 2014, shared). Pours a clear golden orange yellow with a white, fizzy, fast disappearing head. Fruity, slightly tart aroma, yeast, barnyard. Light sour, fruity, vineous taste, yeast with a dry, light sour, ending and somewhat bitter aftertaste. Not bad.

Nez frais et rond. En bouche, on perçoit l’acidité légère des jeunes lambics, avec de belles notes grillées, toastées, boisées, caractéristiques des vieux lambics.

Copenhagen 19/10 2014. Bottle brought by ny brother in law (bucket of beer). Looks a bit like morning urine. Hazy with almost no head. Very distinct sour aroma. Dull mouthfeel due to low carbonation. Very strong citrus and lemon taste and sour Belgian aftertaste. At first quite unconfortable - But it gets better after your mouth gets used to it. My first queze - a quite special experience.

"Cantillon 100% Lambic" bottle. Hazy light golden body, fine thin head. Strong yeasty aromas, cheese, vinegar, citrus, some horse blanket, with flowers and green fruit in the background. Moderatley sweet, nicely acidic and refreshing, dry and slightly astringent/salty finish. Amazing. Slightly challenging for non-lambic lovers due to the initial sourness but still balanced and easy to drink. Overall impression is excellent.

Tart, fresh and phenolic in equal measure. World class. Would win awards as a cider. Challenging and drinkable at the same time. Don’t drink too much or too early the hangover is a killer.
