COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

1500 rates bitches. 2010 bottle. And while this was not even in the top 5 of the afternoon from a rankings perspective, this rating is honoring the fact that in a couple of years, how far I have allowed my palate to come. Sticker said $14.51 which I find to be funny. One of the funkiest beers I have ever had. Four years put this beer into the ’zap all moisture from mouth and leave a tart stinging lemon lingering aftertaste’ in my mouth. Not complaining. Barnyarrd funk, tart citric acid. Good, but I think I detected some oxidation however. I think I am a fresh guy. Super happy to try - thanks Donnie.

Forsyth County Bumble Tasting. Scent is funk and sour grapes. Flavor is sour, slightly sweet, and earth. Pours just hazy pear with rapidly dissipating white head. Light medium body and incredibly carbonated. Classic Gueuze. Classic Tick. Bottle - Shared at Tasting

Bottle. Pours pale, slightly hazy, a bit of foam. Aroma is thick, feels like apple juice, still fermenting. Taste is versatile, starting off with a fruity note, followed by bitterness of an apple that is gone bad - everything in a good way. This bitterness remains in a mouth for a while. Complex beer.

Aroma: citrus, fruity flavours, sours, champagne-like. Appearance: clear pale gold, small white head. Taste: medium sour. Palate: bitters coming up, citrus flavours again, average-long finish, dry. Overall: a Lambic, not my favourite style, nice aroma, but too sour for me overall. Bottle from Beer Hawk, England.

Bottle, 37.5cL. Home. Bottled in december 2012 (15 months). A pale yellow brown beer with a large white head. Medium persistence. Yeast at the bottom of the bottle. When I took the top off the bottle, I discovered beer on the cork. Worrying ?!? Nevertheless, good aroma : smoked, fruity acid (apple?) note, wood. Heavy sour in the middle, medium in the end. Light bittersweet. Medium body and texture. Lively carbonation. Lasting sour finish. Overall, a very good Gueuze !

Capped and corked small bottle into a tulip glass. Effervescent and champagne-like pour. Smaller head than I was expecting, gone in an instant. Very clear, again not what I was expecting. Aroma of cheese, yogurt, cloves, spring flowers, lemon zest. Carbonation is strong but not overwhelming. Taste is mostly the same as the aroma with a nice hop bitterness in the finish. Overall a very nice interpretation of the style. I would have liked to see a brighter color and somewhat cloudy suggesting live yeast, but still very nicely done, went well with the pork and rice.

average fizzy white head. good lacing. fully diminishing. sparkling average yellow body. aroma: vinegar, white wine, lemon. if: moderate acidic, light bitter, acetic vinegar. ff: light sweet moderate acidic bitter, acetic vinegar, salty; long duration. palate: light medium body, dry texture, lively carbonation, moderate astringent finish. 200 s

Bottle 0.75l. Pours cloudy golden orange with almost no head. Aroma is sour, apples, white wine, vinegar. Taste is sour, almost no sweetness and bitterness, tart, apples, white wine grapes, dry, crisp. Aftertaste is sour, touch of bitterness, smooth carbonation. Great beer, refreshing and very balanced.
