The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

4 oz draft pour at ChurchKey. Hazy light apricot yellow with little off-white ring. Aromas of vinegar, floral notes, herbs, citrus, stone fruit. Tastes of big tart fruit, citrus, vinegar, citrus peel, light oak. Medium-light body with a dry and tart finish. Very nice.

Bottle from Beautiful Beers, consumed at home. Orange-ish gold, effervescent carbonation with minimal head. Scent of grapefruit and lemon, spruce, ginger. Taste is a dry uniform sourness, bordering on acrid. Soothingly tempered aftertaste. Mouthfeel is surprisingly watery, but the carbonation is pleasant. Grows on you.

Crea dipendenza!!

Bottle. Hazy honey gold with cloud like white frothy head. Delicious aromas of lemon blossom, lime juice, apple cider vinegar, oak, some barnyard funk and wet hay. Incredibly complex flavours of sour lemon and lime juice, yeast, a salty/savoury element and oak aged apple cider. Rich, well carbonated mouth feel with immense tartness intertwined. Magnificent beer, which keeps beckoning another sip in a bid to grasp the full flavour profile.

From tap. Sunny gold with smallish whit head. Nose is straight funk. Some gym sock. Oak barrel. Tart apples. Taste is crisp throughout. Bright body of cherries, some apricot. Vague wine qualities. Acidic. Well executed, but no the most interesting of their offering by a mile.

Bottle surprisingly at World of Beer in Tioga. $20 for a 375 ml was a bit much but oh well. Pours clear deep golden color with nearly no head at all into my champagne flute. Aroma of vinegar, apricots, mint leaves, sour fruits. Interesting aroma. Flavor follows closely with a surprisingly juicy fruit flavor, some sour lacto notes but not super acidic at all, sweet fruits like apricots, and very very light oak. The mouthfeel is fuller than most Geuezes I have encountered. Not dry at all like others and the oaky wood presence is extremely subdued here. Low to medium carbonation. While this was a bit different from others of the style, it was excellent with lots of juicy sour fruity flavor. Highly recommended!

How wonderful is this beer. I can immediately understand why people wouldn’t like this but this is a favorite. It changes with every sip as well, and under the sourness still retains many fruit flavors. Tap at In De Wildeman

Wine beer with a old cheese after taste. Acid taste at first. aroma is more cheesy and remains a good white wine. The sourness and the palate are the main difference of this beer.
