The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2014 Bottled September 2011. Gold-orange hazy color with small head. Funky, tart aroma. It has the special something in it. Great dry, complex, sourly taste, with a little wood in it. Medium carbonation, amazing for an evening in the good weather.

Do I have to say something... Ryan you suck! This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a hazy golden burnt orange color with a slim one finger white foamy head that dissipated quickly. Lacing, what lacing...none whatsoever. The smell, whoah, what the flying fuck, is this supposed to smell like this? Pure putrid foul smelling vinous shit. The taste was exactly the same. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with no sessionability whatsoever, wow - people actually like this shit. Overall, all I have to say is: to the brewer - how many times did your parents drop you on your head that you thought you had to come up with this shit? Keep your shit out of Alaska!

What else is there to say about this absolutely fantastic brew that sadly doesn’t come into my life more often though I really wish it would because I would go to the store and purchase it with the money that I have in my wallet and now I am done with this run-on-sentence. FANTASTIC GUEZE!!!!

Paille, feuilles mortes et des veines chlorophyllées. Elle est quand même assez acétique, du bon côté de la limite avec une bonne présence citrique et verdoyante.

Burnt orange, fizzy pour with a thin white head. Lemon, apple, hay, yeast, slight stale/funky aroma. Sweet and tart on the palate. Really is a balanced explosion of sweet, tart and zing. Just fantastic.

White head, with big bubbles throughout the hazy gold liquid. Aroma is sweet and sour, with tart berry notes, absent most of their fruity components. A bit like boysenberry, really. Taste is very tart, and acidic, with hay notes. It etches the palate, and fades away to a clean aftertaste. 4 years old, bought at the brewery, and consumed for rating #1776. Sic semper tyrannis!

Pours a slightly cloudy golden amber with a short head diminishing immediately to a thin skim, no lacing. Nose is slight barnyard funk, woody notes, apple and citrus. Taste is tart and sour, funk, and citrus. Medium body and low but sustained carbonation, puckering and dry finish. Bloody marvellous. Tangy and tart, with a pleasant funk. The standard by which gueuze is measured, and with good reason. I don’t see how this can be given anything but full marks.
