COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

Bottle provided by Baron whilst watching football. Thanks for bringing the Loons bro, I love drinking dis shit. 2011 vintage poured into a New Belgium tulip. Poured a golden brown in color with about a fingers worth of tight white head. It’s hazy in clarity. Nose is comprised of lemon and a ton of dirty funk. It’s surprisingly funky for this stage in its development. There is must, horse blanket, wet hay, and some cat piss. Flavor is less funk focused, there is still some sweetness accompanied by the lemon rind. There is some funk on the finish, but not a bunch. Mouthfeel is light, carbonation is low, gentle acidity, and a moderate finish. I love Classic Gueuze/Gueuze BIO/etc., so I always think its a treat to have. I prefer 3F Oude Gueuze in terms of standard gueuzes, but this is probably a close second. Thanks for bringing this Baron.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste sour, citrus, tart. I thought this was very good. I would definitely drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy lemon with negligible head. Aromas of sour apples. Taste sour with some tempering sweetness. Very little carbonation. Finish quite puckering and acerbic..

Strong sour aroma. Yellow / light amber with medium whire cap, which fastly disapperas. Sour cider type taste with a strong citrusy bitter note on the last half of tongue.

375ml Belgian flag bottle in Paris July 2014. Dark gold. The aroma starts with grass, hay and a tart, funk element that's cut with strong lemon zest. The taste follows suit with strong citrus acidic notes. The tartness and funk balance each other perfectly and as the beer warmed up pepper and wood notes came out. The mouthfeel was nice and light with high carbonation. Excellent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ Staminee de Garre, Brugge. Pours slightly hazy light amber with small white head. Clear, vinous aroma, with subtle notes of fruit and touches of hops. Vinous flavour with dusty notes and touches of leaves, as well as bitter, hoppy hints. Dry and sourish, but rather mild, aftertaste. Low carbonation. Decent, indeed.

Bottle @ home 20140720. 2013. Pours cloudy golden with a dense medium head.Aroma: A little rotten at first, then green apples, a minimal funkiness. Taste is old apples, oaky tannins very slight funk. Dry and astringent, a little thin. It feels like something is missing in the middle. More funk would perhaps have been nice.

Bottle at home. Delightful geuze and way sharper and tarter than I remember. Real lip puckering stuff. Big sour apple and musty lemon, hay, dust. Really long dry finish complimented by fine carbonation. Classic fare.
