The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

Bottle provided by Baron whilst watching football. Thanks for bringing the Loons bro, I love drinking dis shit. 2011 vintage poured into a New Belgium tulip. Poured a golden brown in color with about a fingers worth of tight white head. It’s hazy in clarity. Nose is comprised of lemon and a ton of dirty funk. It’s surprisingly funky for this stage in its development. There is must, horse blanket, wet hay, and some cat piss. Flavor is less funk focused, there is still some sweetness accompanied by the lemon rind. There is some funk on the finish, but not a bunch. Mouthfeel is light, carbonation is low, gentle acidity, and a moderate finish. I love Classic Gueuze/Gueuze BIO/etc., so I always think its a treat to have. I prefer 3F Oude Gueuze in terms of standard gueuzes, but this is probably a close second. Thanks for bringing this Baron.

Beautifully aromatic with a sourish lemon tickle up nose. Undoubtedly tart but not harsh and there is some citrus sweetness later. But it tickled the tongue. To be shared. Oh so good. 3std drks, 750bottle, 5% ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tasted a sample at the brewery in Brussels. Zesty, earthy and woody on both - the nose and the palate.

Bottle (375ml) at Porch Nite thanks to Raith which he purchased at the brewery. Pours a clear yellowish with a very thin head. High carbonation. Aroma is lemons, tartness, slight hay and lemongrass. Flavor follows and is lemony and quite tart. Finishes really dry. A very nice beer.

Sample @ Cantillon 150515. Fruity and bretty, sour, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is long and tart, fruity and bretty.

Moss, sourness in aroma. Strong almost citryssy aroma. Amber color on light side. Tart sourness in taste bit of grapefruit peel. Mold maybe also. Refreshing. Difficult layers of taste. Gets better after few sips.

Shared at a tasting hosted by Steebo on February 13. The pour from this 750 mL bottle is a hazy golden yellow color with a smaller white head. The aroma is pretty damn good. There is a lot of sour, Brett, and some lemon or citrus on the back end. The flavor is much of the same. It’s really sharp and tart with some grapes in there with the lemon. I am also picking up some apple peel. The mouth feel is a little light, and the carbonation doesn’t seem like it’s up there as high as it should be. The aftertaste is lingeringly sour and fruity. This is a damn good beer. Wish I had more Cantillon

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2015 375 ml bottle, 5 months old. Hazy golden body, medium to small head. Mildly acidic aroma with classic Lambic elements, nothing out of the ordinary. Pleasantly tart taste without getting excessively sour. Sweet and sour with a mixture of various apples in their different stages: from raw green ones to the ripe red ones and later even some that are almost starting to rot. Pleasantly tart finish. Highly drinkable.

Yellow-orange, hazy, white head. Aroma of mirabelle and brett, quite sour, unripe mirabelle. Soft carbonation. A very clean and crisp lambic without any off flavours. Very good.

At the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy darker golden color, topped with virtually no head to speak of. Cellary aroma, earthy with some grape notes. Taste has some sweetness in there, but characterized by a decent sourness. Not for everyone, but if you can appreciate something completely different, then quite enjoyable.
