COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

Picked this one up after the Chicago real ale festival, fuckin great time! Anyway, a good gueuze. It was tart with a slight winey taste, lots of foam with the pour.

Bottle 0,5l. served in tulip. Aroma: Sour apple and pear, woody, sweet undertone. Apperance: Pours lightly hazed gold with a minimal white head. Taste: Dry, tart, citrus zest, apple, pear, brett. Palate: Medium body. Soft cabonation, lingering acetic sourness. A very nice and drinkable geuze.

Bottle of 75cl. TEH Gueuze ! One of the greatest btw. Superbe taste of lambic, improved with the little sour, yeasted aroma. Nice and sweet palate. Try it with two sugars. Beware of the ascending head :)

Tart and funky, hazy and delicious. A sweetness to the aroma and the tart is pretty subdued. A bit of funk on the finish, but real nice.

Bottle; pours a hazy gold with a thin white head; has a tart apple aroma; taste is also tart apple with some citrus notes; finish is sour and dry; drinks really smooth; very nice

Yeasty start, then sour, citrous and acidic. Not lot of body. Overall a good lambic.

Golden and bears a great resemblance to apple juice in the looks department. Short lasting head. Smell is lemon/lime. Taste is tart, sour and lime. Had this on tap at Moeder Lambic and much prefer it to bottled version; as it is not as harsh and pretty easy to drink.

(On tap at barVolo for Zwanze Day 2014, Sept 20 2014) Pours lightly hazed gold with a medium white head, lace. Aroma of sour pear, slightly rotten fruit, earth and light wood, funny salty buttered lobster aroma (!) over top, a little vinegar. Palate has loads of vinegar, lemon, crabapple, Brett barnyard, herbs restrained but lots of wood from mid-palate on, a bit of old bittering hop medicinal dryness. Lingering acetic acid. Actually rather funky throughout. Medium body with high active carb. I feel like this is one of the most acidic, earthy and funky of the Cantillon beers. There is a ton going on but it’s not as soothing and perfectly integrated as some of the others.

Drinking from tab at Borefts festival 2014. The aroma is like sniffing a glass with champaign. The unclear golden-orange beer has a small white head. The taste is mainly sour. Some bitter underneath. Medium carbonated.

Bottle version. Sour apple nose. Lime tart flavor, vinegar, dry sour finish. A quite well-rounded gueuze, pretty silky and accessible.

500ml bottle served in a chalice. A: Pours a hazy yellow to beige color forming a big, white and bubbled head. Medium to low retention and many bubbled lacings left in the glass S: Very fruity in the nose. Lambic yeasts. Grains, oak and vinegar and some notes of white wine T: Complex. Sour, acid and extremely dry. Fruits (grapes), oak, Lambic style yeasts, vinegar, grains and, again, some notes of white wine M: Light body, low ABV and high carbonation. Fruity ans sour aftertaste O: Good drinkability. Classic Gueuze. Quite sour but a Cantillon after all [ BA Review @ 8/7/2010 ]
