The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2014 Bottled. Pours deep golden and slightly hazy with a small, white head. Aroma of brett, baryard, green grapes, peach and lemons. Dry flavor with some sweetness too and it ends up bone dry and tart. Medium bodied, watery texture and flat CO2. A very nice Geuze

(On tap at barVolo for Zwanze Day 2014, Sept 20 2014) Pours lightly hazed gold with a medium white head, lace. Aroma of sour pear, slightly rotten fruit, earth and light wood, funny salty buttered lobster aroma (!) over top, a little vinegar. Palate has loads of vinegar, lemon, crabapple, Brett barnyard, herbs restrained but lots of wood from mid-palate on, a bit of old bittering hop medicinal dryness. Lingering acetic acid. Actually rather funky throughout. Medium body with high active carb. I feel like this is one of the most acidic, earthy and funky of the Cantillon beers. There is a ton going on but it’s not as soothing and perfectly integrated as some of the others.

Drinking from tab at Borefts festival 2014. The aroma is like sniffing a glass with champaign. The unclear golden-orange beer has a small white head. The taste is mainly sour. Some bitter underneath. Medium carbonated.

Bottle version. Sour apple nose. Lime tart flavor, vinegar, dry sour finish. A quite well-rounded gueuze, pretty silky and accessible.

Sour, acid and extremely dry. Fruits (grapes), oak, Lambic style yeasts, vinegar, grains and, again, some notes of white wine M: Light body, low ABV and high carbonation. Fruity ans sour aftertaste O: Good drinkability. Classic Gueuze. Quite sour but a Cantillon after all [ BA Review @ 8/7/2010 ]

Cervesa àmbar amb toc taronja, aromes fruitats complexos com de poma i pera. En boca es àcida peró també una mica dolça i amarga, boníssima!

At the apparence gold beer with really light foam. Mix of flavours at the nose while its sour taste it is persistant with citric notes. This is a great belgian gueuze in which the sour taste is the greater one, nice to drink also during lunch. Cantillon is always a warranty.

Testing 2007 vs 2014 A: 2007, mussels, "seaweed", shellfish. 2014: Aluminum, funky, hay T: 2007, sour! No bitterness. Shellfish, vinegar. 2014, yeasty, sharp! :-D

Bottle from beergium.com. Smell is sour, citrusy and has some notes of wild flower. Pours hazy dark orange with a small, quickly dissolving, white head. Taste is a bit salty with a subtle tone of citrus. Sour but easy and drinkable. Palate has some sourness and really sticks to the tongue. Overall a pleasant beer but dosen’t really live up to my expectations of it.
