COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

375 ml, bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with a small whitehead. Sour green apples, grapefruit aroma. a little sweet with some sourness and a light bitter finish. Not too bad.

White head, with big bubbles throughout the hazy gold liquid. Aroma is sweet and sour, with tart berry notes, absent most of their fruity components. A bit like boysenberry, really. Taste is very tart, and acidic, with hay notes. It etches the palate, and fades away to a clean aftertaste. 4 years old, bought at the brewery, and consumed for rating #1776. Sic semper tyrannis!

Pours a slightly cloudy golden amber with a short head diminishing immediately to a thin skim, no lacing. Nose is slight barnyard funk, woody notes, apple and citrus. Taste is tart and sour, funk, and citrus. Medium body and low but sustained carbonation, puckering and dry finish. Bloody marvellous. Tangy and tart, with a pleasant funk. The standard by which gueuze is measured, and with good reason. I don’t see how this can be given anything but full marks.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2014 Pale orange pour with a little bit of a very fast vanishing head, aroma is a strong winey character less present at taste, taste is sour, acidic, funk/barnyard and citrus. Paired alongside some sushi and some italian prosciutto and pancetta. Other one tasting with me said it’s better with sushi. Complex, rich, mouthfeel is really pleasurable, strong barnyard character, incredible.

First of this style. Outstanding flavor. Makes me want to go to Belgium. Sour and almost dirty sock flavor that combines for a perfect beer.

375ml bottle (8/2013 vintage) pours hazy toasted orange with a finger of head. Nose is musty wood funk, lemon, apple, citrus, hay, toasted bread crust, old attic floorboards. Taste is balanced tart acidity, lemon crisp, dry old wood, old wood closet funk, citrus, lime, apple. Finish is dry dusty barrel, funky apple, grain, stale bread, soft tartness. Fantastic.

2013 bottle labeled Gueze. Brilliant pale orange. Sour, fruity tannic nose. Very bright and awesome. Sour, balsamic vinegar and oak tannin all across the palate. The definition of Gueze

I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste sour, citrus, tart. I thought this was very good. I would definitely drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy lemon with negligible head. Aromas of sour apples. Taste sour with some tempering sweetness. Very little carbonation. Finish quite puckering and acerbic..
