COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

375ml bottle. Pours a clear, bright medium gold, with a small white head, which does not last all that long nor leave much lacing. Leather, champagne and some funky sour notes create an alluring aroma. Green apple up front leads into dry champagne, with some sourness leading into a leathery, woody flavour in the mid-palate. It ends strongly tart and sour, with cider apple and lemon-lime notes. There is a lingering sour and leathery aftertaste. This is a very good beer, not only potently sour, but with serious complexity to back it up. Great stuff.

Bottle (375ml) at Porch Nite thanks to Raith which he purchased at the brewery. Pours a clear yellowish with a very thin head. High carbonation. Aroma is lemons, tartness, slight hay and lemongrass. Flavor follows and is lemony and quite tart. Finishes really dry. A very nice beer.

Sample @ Cantillon 150515. Fruity and bretty, sour, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is long and tart, fruity and bretty.

Moss, sourness in aroma. Strong almost citryssy aroma. Amber color on light side. Tart sourness in taste bit of grapefruit peel. Mold maybe also. Refreshing. Difficult layers of taste. Gets better after few sips.

Shared at a tasting hosted by Steebo on February 13. The pour from this 750 mL bottle is a hazy golden yellow color with a smaller white head. The aroma is pretty damn good. There is a lot of sour, Brett, and some lemon or citrus on the back end. The flavor is much of the same. It’s really sharp and tart with some grapes in there with the lemon. I am also picking up some apple peel. The mouth feel is a little light, and the carbonation doesn’t seem like it’s up there as high as it should be. The aftertaste is lingeringly sour and fruity. This is a damn good beer. Wish I had more Cantillon

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2015 375 ml bottle, 5 months old. Hazy golden body, medium to small head. Mildly acidic aroma with classic Lambic elements, nothing out of the ordinary. Pleasantly tart taste without getting excessively sour. Sweet and sour with a mixture of various apples in their different stages: from raw green ones to the ripe red ones and later even some that are almost starting to rot. Pleasantly tart finish. Highly drinkable.

Yellow-orange, hazy, white head. Aroma of mirabelle and brett, quite sour, unripe mirabelle. Soft carbonation. A very clean and crisp lambic without any off flavours. Very good.

At the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy darker golden color, topped with virtually no head to speak of. Cellary aroma, earthy with some grape notes. Taste has some sweetness in there, but characterized by a decent sourness. Not for everyone, but if you can appreciate something completely different, then quite enjoyable.

Smell is light to moderate sourness, oak, and brett. Taste is pretty much the same with the sourness being the dominant note. Medium body, low to medium carbonation, and light foam.

Golden honey coloured, cloudy, with a big but quickly fading white head. Smells of sour apples and white wine vinegar. Big yeast presence too. Light body, moderate carbonation but feels zinger due to the tartness. Apples, lemon, hint of sour cherry in the taste. Nice transition from sour to woody dryness. Best sour beer I’ve had - complex and interesting.
