duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jul 9, 2002 Attacks your palte, with its heavy acidity and sourness. Bone dry, refreshing, complex, very good. Was also interesting to see the differences between this and the Girardin Gueze (which i had next to it). To me the Girardin was slightly more complex, and it also had more acidic sourness than the Cantillon. The cantillon however was more bone dry, and less tart.
smith4498 (413), Miami, Florida, USA Dec 2, 2008 Pours clear golden color with small white head. Funky barnyard aroma. Nice and tart with mild sweetness, soft carbonation and a dry finish. I really liked this beer. chicagodri (634), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 30, 2008 Pours a hazy gold with a small white head. Sour and funky aroma, pretty much what I expected, no sweet fruit to offset it. Sour flavor and aftertaste. Acidic. I thought it was rather plain though. TheJollyOne (46), Kofu, Japan Nov 29, 2008 See other gueze entry, this is more more more than that. Smelled of sour berries and a slight grapefruit zest. Taste was quite sour and then very bitter, maybe too much for some. Sour berries and grapefruit were the dominant tastes. Watery on the palate and long to finish. For the hardcore Gueze drinker.
larsga (2448), Oslo, Norway Nov 29, 2008 Small white head. Hazy yellow body. Metallic wooden thin aroma with wool notes. Thin sour metallic grainy taste. Astringent, almost burning. Thin body. Sour lemony wooden aftertaste. Very nice and clean. (0.1l taster, Norbrygg beer judging course.) LawStudent09 (328), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Nov 28, 2008 375ml bottle, 2004 vintage.
