4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Bottle) Pours hazy golden with a medium sized, off-white bead. The aroma is mega funky with notes of horse blanket, mouldy basement and barnyard brett up front alongside clear lacto notes. Also boat loads of citrus (grapefruit and lemon), elder, sweaty cheese, phenols (smoked meat) and subtle spices. Touch of pineapple. The flavour is dry, medium to heavily acidic and tiny bitter with notes of brett, lacto, citrus, cheese, wheat, white bread and phenols. The mouthfeel is soft and tart with a light to medium carbonation. Citric, funky and wheaty finish. Light to medium bodied.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle @ Akkurat. A great gueuze with the high quality of Cantillon. The funk, barnyard and dry, dirty countryside is all there but apart from the aging it has little that adds to either complexity or taste.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted at Akkurat with Joe in 2012... A special bottling for moto subculture. Tasty, cheesy, funky and plenty of character, though nothing specifically sets it apart from a normal Geuze of this age. Extremely tasty but seemilngly underwhelming while tasting the Reed Geuzes and Goldackerl, et al. A solid oude gueuze and a cool bottling to try in Stockholm.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
75cl bottle at Akkurat. 2005 cork. It pours a golden/light amber colour with a large white head. Aroma is wood, funky with fruitiness and some spices. Some cheesey and horseblankety notes. Taste is rich with funk again and tartness sorrounded by a sort of yogurt-like sweetness. Citrus and lemon peel notes. Some wood too. Mostly dry finish. Palate is silky, with good carbonation. So easy to drink, I’m glad I had a whole bottle for myself. This is a bit too young maybe, not on par with some older geuzes I’ve tried.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at Akkurat. Pours a dark yellow/light orange in color with a fingers worth of quickly dissipating white head. Nose is still incredibly bright lemon despite being in bottles for 8 years. There is a good amount of accompanying stone fruit as well in addition to the barnyard funk, horse blanket, and all around mustiness of typical Cantillon. Taste mirrors the nose, bright citric character with just the right amount of backing funk. The stone fruit is a little more prominent in the flavor. We paired it with a peach dessert they offered and the flavors were explosive together. Light mouthfeel, spritzy carbonation, restrained acidity, and a moderate finish. Nice gueuze and a pleasure to try. Probably some better options here but a nice experience nonetheless.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from the source. Pours an ethereal hazy golden yellow. Nose of lemon peel, faint oak, citrus, and acidic funk. Fresh palate of lemon, lime, tart green apple, with hints of musty oak and nice, lively carbonation. Finish is nicely pure and drying, memorable but not lasting, with notable acidity. Overall a pure expression of raw Gueuze characteristics.
