UPDATED: JUL 13, 2014 750ml bottle shared by spycow.

Pours and darker yellow/orange color, white fizzy head, thin ring, wisps on top. Nose is citrus, plastic, funk, oak. Flavor is plastic, fuck, citrus, tangerine, oak. Needs time. Body is light, good light carbonation, dry finish.

Overall, needs some time. Would rather just drink a bottle of Tilquin for $20 but glad I was able to try it because it’s a nice tick.

Bottle at DHVL. Almost clear gold pour with frothy white head. Aroma is fruity, musty, really grassy, earthy notes, musty, kind of confused and all over the place. Taste is sour, citric, musty, oaky, lots of wet grain, harsh husky flavor, very bitter grassiness. Palate is med bodied, medium carbonation. Something went wrong here?

Bottle (750 ml) @ De Heeren van Liedekercke. Slightly hazy golden with a frothy mostly lasting white head that leave some lacing. Aroma is mainly acidic (gastric acid) at first, it then settles a bit but it’s remain quite harsh. There’s also some fruity notes (apricots, lemon) as well as wood, barnyard and herbel notes. Taste is very acidic (harsh) with wood, funk, barnyard, leather, fruity notes and an herbal/medicinal lingering finish. Medium body. Lively carbonation. Dry finish. Not easily drinkable because of the huge acidic presence. Maybe it will be good in a couple of years, but right now it’s an average gueuze at best. Too harsh.

Bottle shared at De Heeren van Liedekercke. Pours hazy dark golden with a white head. Aroma of tart indistinct fruit, vinegar, and light funk. Flavour is heavy acidic. Tart and citrusy in the palate. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Overall, certainly does not improve on the sum of it’s parts.

27/II/14 - 75cl bottle @ DHVL - bottled: 7/I/11 (2014-219)

Note: I waited a bit too long to visit again apparently, because price is now €35, not €25 like mcberko paid for it.

Clear orange beer, very creamy smooth off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: blueberries, very fruity, orange peel, bit lemony, peaches, apricots, funky touch, bretta notes, bit woody, spicy. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: fruity start, peaches, apricots, pretty sour, lemony, citric, sourness mellows out though, turns even a little sweet, wood notes present. Aftertaste: citric acidity, lemony, little bitter, lemon peel, bit grassy, sourness burns a bit in the throat.

Lättdrucken men samtidigt oerhört smakrik. Delar en flarra med Isabel på öl- och kärlekssemester på DHvL. Good times. ------- Drar en flaska med Hoffmack, Bärsen, Hasse och Johan W. Har fått vänta lite för länge på maten denna gång för att kunna uppskatta den men nog gör den skäl för bilden på etiketten fortfarande.

gEUS (1001) - Linden, BELGIUM - NOV 6, 2013
750 ml bottle at DHVL - pours hazy medium hay yellow with a fine mousse. Slightly acidic nose (lemon zeste) and a bit grassy. Slight funk. Light mouthfeel with quite overwhelming acidity (more than both 3 Fonteinen en Cantillon seperate). Taste is going back & forth between sour notes and barnyard funk. The overall acidity annoys a bit frankly. Regardless of the quality of this beer and the fuzz that was created upon the launch, it is not the synergy-geuze it intends to be, on the contrary, it brings down the intrinsic quality of both lambics. I hope it will improve with ageing.

Bottle @ Heeren. Really cool to finally try it a good geuze. Not at all mindblowing but very good.
