UPDATED: OCT 20, 2014 Bottle from De Heeren. Shared with friends for the 30th birthday. Pours clear orange color with some brown undertones. Nose is sweeter than expected, not much funkiness from the 3F and not much lemon from the Cantillon. Somewhat malty/stale character to it as well. Taste is a lot sweeter than I expected as well. Almost no funkiness to it whatsoever, pretty underwhelming flavor wise actually for two powerhouse lambic producers. Gentle mouthfeel, light carbonation, moderate acidity, and an enduring finish. Too young right now, would like to revisit in 4-5 years when this develops more.

Thanks to Caleb for grabbing this from De Heeren and shipping it across the ocean! A 3 Fonteinen / Cantillon collaboration?!? Yes, please! Cork 2010 The beer is light rusty orange with a small white head. Mineral and basement scents, well water. Cantillon character comes out more in the nose and flavor. Funky with mineral and citrus notes. A slight pucker in the finish. This has a few years on it and tastes like it. Very nice. I believe I enjoyed this more than the rest of the guys. Very similar to a Classic Gueuze with some age on it, only much more expensive and rare. Still, Iíd do it again.

Sampled with Max and Emily at DHVL after a morning of tasting lambic at Grote Dorst..Bottle was served to us at cellar temp or possibly warmer. Had no condensation whatsoever on the bottle and very few bubbles in the glass. Very "thick" looking, oily and viscous with lots of lacing. Apple cider vinegar notes with strong hay and dirt coming through on the finish. Musty and funky more than sour, very deep barnyard notes, a treat to try but at 200 euros takeaway, Iíll be blending my own with bottles of each from 2008. Quite the nice way to end an afternoon and paired well with the flemish chicken & mushroom dish!

750 ml bottle, thanks Huhzubendah for setting this up! Pours a hazy light orange/brown color with lasting white head that fades to a wisp leaving no lacing. Aroma is mild, with lemon and tangerine citrus, tangy cherry, oak, light hay, grass, and a slight bile acidity. Flavor is same, with a sweet tangy tangerine citrus. Carbonation is bright and active that brings sour aspects forward. Mouthfeel is acetic, with residual sugars. Finish is tart citrus and palette drying. Delicious.

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2014 750ml bottle shared by spycow.

Pours and darker yellow/orange color, white fizzy head, thin ring, wisps on top. Nose is citrus, plastic, funk, oak. Flavor is plastic, fuck, citrus, tangerine, oak. Needs time. Body is light, good light carbonation, dry finish.

Overall, needs some time. Would rather just drink a bottle of Tilquin for $20 but glad I was able to try it because itís a nice tick.

Bottle at DHVL. Almost clear gold pour with frothy white head. Aroma is fruity, musty, really grassy, earthy notes, musty, kind of confused and all over the place. Taste is sour, citric, musty, oaky, lots of wet grain, harsh husky flavor, very bitter grassiness. Palate is med bodied, medium carbonation. Something went wrong here?

Bottle (750 ml) @ De Heeren van Liedekercke. Slightly hazy golden with a frothy mostly lasting white head that leave some lacing. Aroma is mainly acidic (gastric acid) at first, it then settles a bit but itís remain quite harsh. Thereís also some fruity notes (apricots, lemon) as well as wood, barnyard and herbel notes. Taste is very acidic (harsh) with wood, funk, barnyard, leather, fruity notes and an herbal/medicinal lingering finish. Medium body. Lively carbonation. Dry finish. Not easily drinkable because of the huge acidic presence. Maybe it will be good in a couple of years, but right now itís an average gueuze at best. Too harsh.

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2014 Bottle shared at De Heeren van Liedekercke. Pours hazy dark golden with a white head. Aroma of tart indistinct fruit, vinegar, and light funk. Flavour is heavy acidic. Tart and citrusy in the palate. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Overall, certainly does not improve on the sum of itís parts. NOTE on July 2014 - Drink in price has now risen to Ä60!
