Hazy light orange with a good pale head. Aroma is citrus peel, earthy funk, gooseberry, orange blossom. Medium bodied, lightly sticky mouthfeel, sweet and sour on the palate with a tart fruity finish. Taste is tangerines, gooseberries, sweet orange peel, kumquat. Nice.

Golden hazy hay color. Small dirty white head. Dusty aroma with pleasant funk, ending in citrus, hay and acidity. Still some sweet fruity notes. Very acidic sourness with funky blankets and old cellars.

75CL enjoyed @ DHVL for 85 Euros. I figured the darn price keeps going up so I might as well order it before it costs more than Blauw!!!!! Was 25 a year ago. sigh. Split 2 ways and I shared the dregs with some Americans.

A - Slightly cloudy Burt orange appearance. 1 finger dense creamy head. Carbonation but nothing dense.

S - Aroma is very musty. Lemon and creamy with a dense oak and peach skin.

T - Up front, very lemon forward with kiwi, papaya and mango finish is metallic and oaky with cooper, mineral, sweetness and something chemical in nature.

M - Not a great overall mouthfeel either...just low carb, unfulfilling.

O - This is a solid Geuze today but maybe in 1-2 years time, it will improve to a level worth of the price tag. Given the rarity, price and overall taste, I can’t get this one high-marks.

Bottle consumed at De Heeren. Clear yellow pour with a white head. Enticing barnyard bouquet. Superb mouthfeel with lemon and citrus notes leaping out at you. Lots of barrel and almost vinous like undercurrents. Somewhere in the distance are sweet malty backbeats. Perfect body.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2014 Bottle from De Heeren. Shared with friends for the 30th birthday. Pours clear orange color with some brown undertones. Nose is sweeter than expected, not much funkiness from the 3F and not much lemon from the Cantillon. Somewhat malty/stale character to it as well. Taste is a lot sweeter than I expected as well. Almost no funkiness to it whatsoever, pretty underwhelming flavor wise actually for two powerhouse lambic producers. Gentle mouthfeel, light carbonation, moderate acidity, and an enduring finish. Too young right now, would like to revisit in 4-5 years when this develops more.

Thanks to Caleb for grabbing this from De Heeren and shipping it across the ocean! A 3 Fonteinen / Cantillon collaboration?!? Yes, please! Cork 2010 The beer is light rusty orange with a small white head. Mineral and basement scents, well water. Cantillon character comes out more in the nose and flavor. Funky with mineral and citrus notes. A slight pucker in the finish. This has a few years on it and tastes like it. Very nice. I believe I enjoyed this more than the rest of the guys. Very similar to a Classic Gueuze with some age on it, only much more expensive and rare. Still, I’d do it again.

Sampled with Max and Emily at DHVL after a morning of tasting lambic at Grote Dorst..Bottle was served to us at cellar temp or possibly warmer. Had no condensation whatsoever on the bottle and very few bubbles in the glass. Very "thick" looking, oily and viscous with lots of lacing. Apple cider vinegar notes with strong hay and dirt coming through on the finish. Musty and funky more than sour, very deep barnyard notes, a treat to try but at 200 euros takeaway, I’ll be blending my own with bottles of each from 2008. Quite the nice way to end an afternoon and paired well with the flemish chicken & mushroom dish!
