COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "Cantillon Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "Cantillon Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

On draught at Cantillon. Pours a dark golden colour with a lacy white head. Aroma of lemon, horse blanket, wet cardboard and oak. Similar flavours and mildly tart with very low carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Quite dry to finish. Very nice.

16/05/2012 Open Baladin Roma (handpump). Dorata, abbastanza torbida, lievissima schiuma poco persistente. Al naso lieviti selvatici, sentori di stalla, muffa e cantina, intenso agrumato con note citriche. In bocca è acida, decisa, lievemente più morbida della geuze, ma anche più lineare, semplice, manca un po’ di secchezza nel finale. Corpo medio-basso, leggermente watery, carbonazione quasi assente. Ok.

Cask at Moeder Lambic St Gilles few weeks ago from notes. I asked the owner, this is the fresh stuff. Pours golden with a small white head. Nose is earthy. Lots of old barn fragrances. Grass, hay, etc. A little funk but not much yet. Flavor is more bitter and sweet, with a tad sour. Mouthfeel is tight and crisp. Clean. Nice to get to try this early.

cask @ moeder Lambic, not sure of the age but they labeled it Jong Lambic. Citrus notes in the aroma. Pours golden blonde with little to no head. Mild funk upfront with sweet citrus notes. Very drinkable.

Ahh Really good. Thanks SJ. What was good about this? The lemon, lime, earth, peach, melon, grass, sour , sweetness complexities all blended to perfection. Not my favorite style by any mean, but rating it purely on style, it was superb.

I am indebted to blazer06 for providing this one. Cheers, Zack! Pours a still hazy yellow. Nose is vinegar, lactic, white grape, and some yeast. Flavor is somewhat vinous and tart. FInish lingers with tart chardonnay character and vinegar-like tartness. Interesting style that I am interested in gaining experience with.

Decent lambic with a pleasing sourness that is smooth and does not overwhelm.

Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas. A real good lambic. Medium orange coloured, and hazy. Has a white head, fully lasting. Aroma of barnyard and something old. Flavor is starting light sweet, finish moderate acidic. Light bitter too. Dry texture, soft carbonation and a bit astringent.
