Wow this was a good kriek. I don’t like kriek and i don’t like souer, but this one was so balanced. Really surprised by it. Eye opener.

Test vom 27.10.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,13,12,13,13,13 - 12,75

375ml bottle @ Brewdog Bar in Edinburgh. Pours a beautiful red/pink with a thin layer of attractive lace. The nose is very dry, sour and of course there are cherries. The taste is again sour then cherry sorbet, but really persistent. The palate is sour, very rich but tight in structure and it lasts for a very long time. A powerful but elegant beer.

Bottle 375ml. Quite sour, but enjoyable. Aromas of cherries and apple. Taste is lightly sweet, and then sour, with long length. Palate is oily, and medium bodied. Red, with a thin head.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2011 My first Lambic...beer into Trappistes Rochefort glass...NOT the chalice. I don’t know what glass it is...anyway. Aroma: Wine, vinegar, latex gloves, grass and cherries. Quite "synthetic", phenolic and sulfury. Appearance: Looks fantastic, hazy sparkling red color, very thin pinkish white head that leaves quick. Bubbles rising quickly from the bottom too. Taste: Quite sour, reminiscent of vinegar but it’s tolerable and very, very interesting. Hint of cherries and there is a slight sweetness. It does have a weird synthetic latex taste to it, which is kinda off putting. Palate: Mouth puckering, thin and light. Quite a dry, acidic finish. Overall: This is one interesting beer that I will be picking up again sometime. I find it very amusing and quite refreshing in a different way and oddly enough quite enjoyable. Goes absolutely fantastic with monterey jack cheese, ham, french bread and dill pickles...really brings out the flavours from everything. I absolutely adore this beer.

Tap @ Ørsted Ølbar, Copenhagen. Pours a beautiful cherry red body with a low light-pinkish head. Looks quite amazing. Aroma is woody and tart with cherries and some brett. Oily texture, average carbonated and full-bodied. Flavors are beautifully dry, sour and tart, light grassy, woody, yeasty and leaving a lingering cherry sourness. I’m usually not the biggest kriek or lambic fan, or, I don’t mind sharing a big bottle or two of these, but this little beauty really opened my eyes. Fantastic!

Dec 09 bottle at CP&K. It pours hazy deep red, with a thick fizzy light pink head and high carbonation. The nose is tart cherry, farmyard and wood. The taste is sour cherry, Granny Smith apple, lemon, lime and some green vegetables, with moderate to high tartness. It starts our sour and smoothes out to more juicy cherry. A high-quality kriek.

Pours clear red with a low head. Aroma is sour cherry. Flavor is very sour with some malts and cherry. One of the best lambics I’ve ever tasted.
