3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Hermod (1480) - Vantaa, FINLAND - MAY 31, 2011
37,5cl bottle from Bierkompass. Poured reddish color with a pink head. sour berry aroma, lots of cherries. Flavor is wood, earth and cherries. Sour and dry finish. Quite an enjoyable beer, but kind of raw. Maybe it should have been better to age it a couple of years. Bottled 17.11 2010.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Martinus (666) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - MAY 29, 2011
Lovely deep red colour, pinkish white head. Fruity cherry aroma, quite tart, the typical Cantillon tartness. Nice smooth cherry flavour, bit of oak and cherry pips, quite tart, some brett and lactic acid, very dry. Seems quite fresh, the sour notes overpower the fruity notes quite easily in more aged Cantillon kriek. Very nice, but I still prefer their Lou Pepe Kriek.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Kristall-König (1552) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - MAY 29, 2011
Mandelig-kirschiger Geruch mit saurer Note. Saurer Antrunk, ausgewogen kirschig.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 TheAlum (2981) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - MAY 28, 2011
Sampled from a bottle at Delilah’s Lambic Fest (Chicago, IL). 2008 Vintage. Pours a a nice glowing orange reddish hue, with some reddish cherry glow. A small frothy brighter white head dies to a small film, with light lacing. Aromas are a deeper pie cherry fruitiness surrounded by sour cherries, touches of vinegar, with lactic acid, wet oak and touches of cherry tannins. Mellow deep sweeter cherry with some good sourness, light funkiness. Initial is quite sour, good sour cherries, touches of bitter tannins, light vinegar. Cherries with wet oak, moderate sourness moves into lactic acid, fizzy carbonation is light and gives it some life. Sourness really grows, tart and touches of vinegar. This beer grows on me leaving a healthy sour acidity on the palate, some fruity tannins. Nice.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 jolo (521) - Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICA - MAY 12, 2011
Bottle at 12 degrees C. A red color with a pink/white head. The aroma is nicely sour with a scent of cherry. A good body with lively carbonation. The flavor is sour, cherry, with a dry and sour finish. This is a very nice kriek that I recommend.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 scottw86 (836) - Maryland, USA - MAY 6, 2011
12 oz bottle. Poured a deep reddish-honey color with a bubbly pink head. Aroma is great. Lots of cherries and yeast esters. Aroma is not too sweet and not too tart, a good balance. Some cheese notes as well. Taste has lots of cherries and tart notes at first. Fizzy body with a slightly creamy feeling. Finish is great, all of a sudden it transitions from a tart yeast flavor to sweet cherries and cream. Another great beer from Cantillon.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Shakesbeere (187) - Oxford, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2011
33cL bottle from brewery in Brussels. Bottled 2.011 (14 Feb 2011(. Pours a bright crimson with a lingering red tinted head. Smells of cherry, complex sour, and sour yeast. Feel is pretty smooth with slight fizz -- neither thick nor thin. Taste is strongly fruity (cherry) with underlying sour and yeast. Each individual flavor intensity oscillates with time and at different frequencies resulting in a complex taste with dynamic dominant flavors and dynamic overall intensity. Finish is dry and sour-sweet. Very nice. Very interesting.
