Bottled on Feb. 14, 2007. The beer pours to a cherry wood colored body with a thin but fully coating white head. My cat decided to hop up and take the first sip. I guess that’s why she’s named Framboos! The aroma is funky cherry and earthy leathers. Really strong pie. Oh my this is a sour beer! Wow! Puckering tartness and acidic cherry with a funky leather. Divine! Phenomenally sour palate and a perfect flavor. I think I’ve found a new staple of a sour beer!

Hand-pulled at Moeder Lambic. Cloudy pink with a white head into a tuliped wine glass. Larger head than the bottled version. Funky sour smell with a sour cherry nose overtone. Smells similar to the bottled, but slightly different - better. Tastes much like the Lou Pepe Kriek (looks like it too); more sour than the normal bottled version, subduing the cherries more with the sourness. Same mouthfeel as the Lou Pepe as well. Might just be the Lou Pepe, and if they said as much it wouldn’t surprise me. Sour enough to let you know that this is not a sweet syrup infused beverage. Crisp and refreshing. But at the same time, sour enough to make you want to limit your intake and give your palate a breather between glasses. But good enough that you wouldn’t mind drinking a few over the course of an evening.

Another lovely brew shared by Todd. Bloody rose pour and a super sharply tart nose. Taste is same sharp tart and lots of leather. I’m tasting raspberries but Todd called me a dumbass and said it’s cherries. I know theres cherries, but it tastes like raspberries with the other flavors in there. The tart grows as it warms. Vinegar finish. Nice.

Dumped into glass. Has a hazy pinkish red body and a ring that never leaves. Nice aroma of warm cherries with a bit of light spice and herb, sweetness with ample stiff cheese stink, plenty of funk and notable sourness that has enough strength to crinkle my nose multiple times. Wonderful aroma that mellows nicely as it warms. Sourness and funk obliterated my tastebuds. More cheese and sour cherries, vinegar, leaves. Interesting - pretty much the same things as the aroma just in different doses. Sour, massively tart and very well at making me drool the entire time. Killer brew. I’m not sure if I want more cherries or if I’m happy with the strength. What ever. Yummmmmmo
