4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 patrickfannon (1059) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 30, 2010
Bottle. 12.7 oz. (2009 Vintage) Split with Vin. Pours a fiery ruby red with a thick, one-finger, bubbly pink head. Aroma of banyard funk, cheese, dark, bloody cherries, black plums, and notes of pie crust. Full bodied with an insanely unique palate; starts off with an intense sour, juicy rush which melds slowly into a smooth, funky, lightly malted finish. Palate is astringent, tart, and chewy. This is the best Kriek I’ve ever tasted. Hell yes! Cheers.

12 oz. bottle 2005 version according to the cork. Cool label. Pours a bit flat but there is carbonation around the edge of the glass. Bright reddish/copper-nice coloring. Nose is very tart and acidic with a hint of cherries. Taste is very tart, tangy, with a bit of sourness in the slight cherry flavor-cherry flavor seems to have dissipated. Body is a bit thin. Mouth puckering and delicious.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 blankboy (4287) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 20, 2010
Bottle [375ml] at beerbistro. Bottled Feb. 26, 2008. Pours a cloudy very deep red-amber with a small lasting frothy pink head. Aroma of funky yeast and sour cherries -- very lovely. Fantastic flavour is also of sour cherries and funky yeast along with some lemon, some mild acidity and a dry finish -- it’s a little more subtle then some other Cantillons I’ve had but also very smooth for a Lambic. Quite carbonated, medium bodied. A great beer and a wonderful Wedding Anniversary treat.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2010 Sorry Cantillon, my first real sour ale I guess. Aroma is extremely funky, sour, Taste is sour (acitic) however very complex (many impressions coming and going), I’ll re-rate this when Iäve matured to taste it again. Cuz I guess all rates are just blown away now that I click "Add My Rating".
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cole (889) - , Alberta, CANADA - JUL 15, 2010
looks great deep ruby red colour thick pink head. Aroma is wild. This beer brings the funk. Very much a lambec aroma with a strong cherry taste. Flavour is very sour, now this is a lambec! Bold flavour, lots of cherry. This is a great beer but much more a lambe than a fruit beer. But this is still fantastic great beer.
