Bottle courtesy of blazer06. Pours a deep red color with light red to pink head. Aroma is tart with notes of sour cherries, light vinegar, overripe fruit, some hints of spice. Flavor is about the same, with more intense notes of sour cherries, barnyard funk, and overripe fruit. Medium body with a crisp, tart finish. Nice ale.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who brought it from Belgium (thanks!)
Poured a shiny red body with a pink head. Tart funky nose, something light and sweet too. Maybe. Just maybe. The taste is as sour as expected, which is "really sour", and funky, but it all feels somehow balanced. Salty, but carrying some vague notes of sour cherries. I’ve run out of descriptors but still... a quality lambic.

durhambeer (2028) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - DEC 4, 2009
Bottle from Sam’s in Durham. Pours dark pink with very light pink head that quickly dissipates. Nose of sour cherries, lemon, wood. Taste adds extra Cantillon tart sourness. Good, but expensive.

Reddish pour with a short-lived fizzy white head. Basically looks like kool-aid once the head dissipates. Aroma of, surprise, sour cherry. A little bit of wood, maybe cedar. Mild cough syrup. The flavor is extremely sour. I like it a lot. The cherry flavors are almost overwhelmed by the acidic bitterness, but in the end they balance out nicely enough. The finish is really clean. Medium/light mouthfeel, very little carbonation, but this is fine given the huge bite from the sourness of the beer. I like this one a lot. Maybe a little bit one dimensional, but that doesn’t prevent it from being great.

Bottled 375ml. Very nice ruby pinkish appearance. Some ammonia and faint sulphur showing up in the nose- otherwise rather nice.Strong astringency.

Bottle that was bottled on 8/28/07. Clear red pour with a medium pink head. Cherry aroma with lots of funky vinegar and some subtle sweetness. Funky vinegar and cherry flavor with very little sweetness and a bitter finish. Not bad, but has that bile flavor that a lot of sour beers have that I don’t particularly care for.

Bottle, 2009 vintage, held in storage for about 2 months. Pours a deep cherry red with a slight pink/white head. Looks almost pink around the edges but a dark red in the center. Smells like a red wine....fruit, vinegar. Extremely dry and sour. Most of the people I was drinking it with didn’t really like it. The beer reminded me of a cherry-flavored sour patch kid....it was compared to a beer/wine combo by some friends - the combination and crisper mouthfeel of a beer with the sour taste and dry finish of a red wine. I enjoyed it.
