3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 zdk (1609) - New York, New York, USA - JUL 12, 2009
Sampled at Cantillon brewery museum: Cherry nose and flavor really come through to tame the Cantillon’s notoriously sour lambic.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 Braudog (4473) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - JUL 9, 2009
From a bottle, at a beer dinner at Ol Factory Cafe, served with an oven-roasted pork tenderloin (not quite the best pairing). This is a big-time sour beer, even more sour than the Duchess they served right beforehand. Not a fruity lambic at all, despite the label. (#3592, June 2009)

Bottle. Hazy ruby coloured with a thin pinkish white head. Aromas of sour cherries, musty basement, rubbery tartness and wood. Dry and tart flavour with notes of balsamic vinegar, sour cherries, wood, red currant and spice.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 gkost (1306) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 3, 2009
On tap @ The Trappist. Poured a amazing purple ruby with a thin pink head. Nose was sharp sour cherries, semi sweet ripe cherries and lactic sourness. Flavor was loads of sour cherry, some dry wood and vinegar. Finishes nice and dry with a slight sweet sourness. Awesome!
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 sebletitje (4011) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JUN 30, 2009
2008 bottle from Bier Planet, Brussels.
bottled 24 oct, ’08
pours a suptuous red/rubby with a thin fizzy pink head. served at 13°c cellar temp.
aroma of morello became more prominent as beer was in room temp. some acidic/vinegary hints are also presnt.
taste, morello, sour that just doesn’t become too much to handle.
Once the acidic/sour mouthfeel is past, teh nice and subtle palate of morello sets in and covers the palate.
the hops give the beer a nice floral feel.
Overall low carbonation. Probably missing some other elements but it’s just a wonderfully well carfted beer and a style that takes time to be enjoyed and fully appreciated.

Flavor: Sour cherries and a subtle vanilla/oak combination. Very dry finish. Palate: Light body with solid carbonation. Overall: Sour, but very solid. I have come to enjoy Cantillon beer very much.
