Had at Milltown. Poured a gorgeously bright ruby pink, just vivid. Thin fizzy pink head that doesn’t stick around. The aroma is sweet and dry, some cherry peel, spicy, bracingly acidic and tart. The flavor is spicy and tart, biting tartness and acidity, sweet, cherry, a little dry, acetic. Very tart and acidic. Light acronation.

(Draught) Pours hazy blood red. The aroma is of tart cherries, old oxidized, hops, cheese, horse blanket, basement and mold like yeast. Undertones of wood and wheat. The flavour is big time citric acid like alongside tones of tart cherries, wood and moldy yeast. The mouthfeel is heavily sour, tart and dry with a light sticky twist. Light to medium bodied.

Draught at the Rover. Hazy ruby red with a thin pinkish white head. Frsh cherry aroma with some barnyard and wood. Way too sour as usual.

375 ml bottle, very little carbonation. Smells of sour cherries, heavy horseblanket and barnyard (all of the classically iconic lambic aromas) Taste is powerfully acidic, reminds me of acerola vitamin c tablets, the cherry is there but plays a supporting role in this cast of flavors. Will clean any palate for the next course at dinner. The slightest bit of body disappears instantly and finishes out bone dry. Unmistakably Cantillon.

From a bottle--Poured a bright ruby body, much like the Oud Beersel kriek. This beer was more sour and more sharp on the tongue. Very acidic, funk,y tart, and bright to the palate. Cherry sour power. Killer!

2004 bottle. Poured slightly hazy pinkish-amber with very little head settling on top. The aroma picked up funky yeast, saturated oak, and cherry vinegar with a bit of wet blanket on the back.. very, very sour and gripping. The flavor was bracingly sour the whole way through with cherry skins and vinegar leading the way.. earth and horse blankets complement with a cherry Sweet Tart impression on the finish. Powerfully sour and bone dry on the palate leaving a scorching sour trail through the finish.. the cherries return afterward in dusty form. Good, but not my favorite from Cantillon.

This fruit-lambic pours a cheery red color from a cap and corked 12oz bottle. Small sized slightly pinkish head. The aroma is tart cherries, some malts and some wood. A medium bodied lambic. Very tart cheery flavor. Touch of oak and some horse blanket and malt. Very tart and acidic tasting, with very little sweetness to balance. The tartness has some staying power. Nice crisp and bone dry finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is tart and sour.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle, vintage 2007. Cloudy ruby red pour. Still acidic body. Soft tannic fruit aroma. Light wet grassiness. Laid back funk; gym socks, compost, cheese. Big funky fruit flavor and dry, pungent cheese stink underneath. Bloody acidic citrus juice texture; wisps of tangy cherry vinaigrette and violently dry pomegranate arils before the finish, where a long, dusty sharp funk extends slowly. Lovely balance of punchy and calm; confronting and simple at the same time. Thanks Eric!
